Coming out of a long holiday weekend, I’ll be the first to admit that I can feel a little bit sluggish and out of balance. There’s no mistaking the tiredness that I feel and I usually wake up craving a body reset. While stringent detox programs can be hard to adjust to (and only offer short-term results anyways), I instead prefer adding in practices to help my body naturally detox daily. I’m sharing my top 5 favorite ways to detox that I do everyday, and the best part is, many of these practices are easy to add in!
Start With Your Mouth
Crest Gum Detoxify Toothpaste
Top: LOFT Eyelet Sweater Tank (XS / runs small)
Bottom: Express Crop Denim Leggings (0P / TTS)
Watch: Fitbit ‘Versa’ w/ metal strap
Earrings: LOFT Beaded Ring Drops in coastal grey (similar)
Crest Gum Detoxify Toothpaste
Oral-B Pro 6000 Toothbrush
similar decorative tray
faux hydrangea stems
faux eucalyptus bunch
One of the most important things I learned about ways to detox when I was pregnant is that your oral health actually determines so much of your body’s overall health. I had no idea they were so closely tied, but ever since then, I’ve been so much more diligent when it comes to taking care of my teeth. About 3 years ago, I switched dentists as I was having some sensitivity in my teeth, and it was then that I discovered I had the beginnings of gum disease. As the hygienist probed around my gum line, she would use a tiny ruler to check the depth of the pockets. Healthy pockets had numbers ranging from 1-3 millimeters but the areas where I was sensitive had numbers ranging from 4-6 millimeters — it was a clear correlation between pain I was experiencing and inflammation I had built up in my gums.
I recently switched my toothpaste to use the newest Crest Gum Detoxify and love that it’s specially formulated with Activated Foam technology to seek out bacteria in hard-to-reach places and even below the gum line. Crest challenged me to take part in a 5-day challenge of using the toothpaste to see if I noticed a difference, and I can definitively say YES! By the end of the third day I noticed I didn’t have the same sensitivity around certain areas of my mouth as I did before and I honestly look forward to starting my day with that cool clean feeling after I finish brushing! Crest Gum Detoxify has been clinically proven to give healthier gums, and for me there’s no better way start my day with a simple oral detox! More oral care tips can be found on TODAY.com.

Wake Your Body With Dry Brushing
Dry Skin Brush
Tata Harper Smoothing Body Scrub
Sky Organics Bath Bombs – love this option w/ toys for kids!
bath bomb container
Another of my ways to detox that I incorporate in the mornings is a quick 5-minute dry brushing routine. I first heard about dry brushing almost 7 years ago and it has made a huge difference in just how invigorated I feel! The practice is easy and simply involves taking a brush specifically designed for dry skin brushing (I use this one) and just work in small circular motions going up from my toes to my heart and then down from my neck / arms to my heart. The idea is to work with the body’s lymphatic system and help it naturally drain excess fluid. I’ve found that I just feel like my whole body is awake after a good dry brushing session, plus it’s amazing for boosting circulation and just rejuvenating the skin!
Add More Greens
Recipe: (1) 1 cup Fage yogurt mixed with Amazing Grass (2) add granola (3) top with cut fresh fruit!
mason jar
There’s no doubt that I feel better when I eat more greens. I try to add something green to every meal that I eat, whether it’s sauteing up a side of spinach or even just mixing in some a small spoonful of powdered wheatgrass to a granola and yogurt breakfast parfait! While the habit of including greens at every meal didn’t come naturally at first, I personally found the practice of adding greens instead of substituting greens for something else key as part of the transition. It didn’t make me feel like I was depriving myself yet I found that I was slowly learning to incorporate more veggies into my diet so that slowly my body naturally started wanting to eat them more instead of other less healthy options. Now I’ve found incorporating greens into every meal comes as second nature and I just find that my body runs better with the added nutrients and fiber.
Break A Sweat
Top: Outdoor Voices ‘Athena’ Crop (XS)
Bottom: Outdoor Voices 7/8 Springs Legging (XS)
Shoes: Nike Epic React Flyknit (6 / size up) – (also here) highly recommend!
Watch: Fitbit ‘Versa’ w/ metal strap
Nothing beats the benefits of getting your body moving and sweating is the body’s built-in mechanism for ways to detox. I absolutely love the feeling of being drenched in sweat after a rigorous yoga practice or pushing myself in the all-out sprints at an OrangeTheory class. Sweating for me is as much physical as it is mental as well as it gives me a chance to clear my mind and almost always I find myself in a better mood after I get a good workout in!
Practice Positive Self Talk
Swimsuit: ASOS (old, similar, obsessed with this one)
Necklace: Baublebar (old, similar)
Hair: T3 Wand w/ 1.25″ Curling Iron
And beyond just physical detoxification, so much of how we feel and act depends on the mental chatter going on inside our heads. I know I’m by far my own worst critic but I’ve been working on practicing positive self talk, recognizing my accomplishments, and then giving myself grace when I need it. The mind is a powerful tool and seeing yourself in a positive light can not only do wonders for building self-esteem, but also give you the confidence to continue being your best self!

I’ve actually got the other parts covered and think doing these easy daily detoxes has improved my life quality a lot, BUT I haven’t yet gotten myself to dry brushing every day. To be completely honest, I don’t even do it every week… I know, I’m bad, but thanks to you I’ll get my hands brushing to enhance the quality of everyday life even more. Thanks for the tips! 🙂

Usually, after a good rest and good sleep, overwork passes, vigor returns, panic recedes, the person feels cheerful again. It is important to pay special attention to nutrition, as well as the selection of suitable vitamins. I advise you to familiarize yourself with the Prorganiq brand in more detail.
