Hello and happy Friday! The past couple of weeks have been especially crazy as we’ve had several big projects launch at work and it’s been a juggle with the kids’ spring break schedules as well. Many of you have asked how it is that I manage it all and trust me, it’s a constant process that’s still getting tweaked (shared my 10 work/life balance tips here)! But, I wanted to share details on my number one tip: outsourcing. Outsource the tasks that you’re not good at, that add stress to your life, or that just don’t give you joy.
I strongly believe that time is one of the most valuable assets that you can never get back. There are always some non-negotiables for my time when it comes to work, but my time outside of work is my choice. My time with my family is always my top priority and I’ll even prioritize my self care above to-dos on my list. Today, I’m sharing my top five everyday services that I outsource and why I 100% recommend them if you need time back in your life! (disclaimer: none of this is sponsored and are all everyday services I pay for with my own money!)
Top 5 Everyday Services:
Housekeeper
“A clean home is a happy home.” Adrian and I make a point to do basic tidying and cleaning up around the house at the end of each day but more detailed tasks like mopping floors, dusting shelves, and de-scumming bathrooms are just not how we want to spend our weekend. For any parents out there, you know kids can make a mess in literally 30 seconds! We started having a housekeeper come to our home and there’s just such a sense of relief coming back to a clean home! I personally love Handy as it’s been the easiest to schedule a service and we’ve had great experiences with everyone we’ve had (if you live in Dallas, I highly recommend Whitney J!).
The Handy app makes it easy to track and message our housekeeper while they’re there as well and the convenience / flexibility is key for me. We have an electronic keypad on our front door with a special code just for the housekeeper so they can let themselves in while we’re at work. More details regarding our home security is available here (highly recommend!)
Car Detailing
Having just purchased a new car, one of my goals was to make sure to keep it clean! I make use of Spiffy, a mobile car wash and detailing service. I especially love that they will come to me and wash my car while I’m at work! Their app also makes booking super easy and are very meticulous in their work. Plus, you can even add on the option to have your oil-changed! Let me know if you’d like a referral as I can send you an email with a promo code discount to try it out!
Food and Grocery Delivery
There are so many days when I just don’t have time to stop at the store to pick up groceries and/or don’t have a meal prepped in time. For grocery delivery, I use a combination of Amazon Fresh and Instacart — they are literally lifesavers! Amazon Fresh is amazing as they have a lot of the organic items that I like to purchase from Whole Foods. I love also that I can go into the app the night before while I’m in bed and schedule a delivery for 7:00 am the next morning and I can wake up to fresh groceries at my doorstep! I have Amazon Prime and the Amazon Credit Card which provides 5% back and it definitely pays for itself!
With Instacart, I get my favorite groceries from Sprouts and have had such great experiences with them as well. Their service times are a bit more limited and while they may not know exact inventory at a given store, they provide in-app options to choose backup items if things are out of stock that make it super convenient.
Other occasions when I may not have time to prepare a meal, I rely heavily on food delivery through Door Dash! There’s lot of orders for Snappy Salads and Poke Bowls in my history, lol.
Manicure / Pedicure
I used to think spending money on mani / pedis was a little frivolous but I’ve since realized that it’s just part of my personal upkeep that doubles as a bit of self-care. Making it out to a nail salon is always the hardest part though so when I heard about Cherry, it was a game changer.
Cherry is a nail service that comes to your home and it’s made scheduling services 1000% easier. I love that I can stay home with my kids and have my nails done asap on my time. Cherry just started offering dip powders in addition to gel and normal polishes. I highly recommend Jamil Wilson if you’re looking for a technician that does amazing work and is good with kids (just enter her name in the Request Technician box)!
Lashes
I don’t have time for make-up on most days anymore so the one thing I do invest in is lashes! It’s incredible how a simple pair of lashes can really make you look put together without anything else. For years, I had lash extensions done at Amazing Lash (I love their 6D volume extensions) but lately I’ve just been using false eyelash strips and have a subscription service where I get new packs sent every other month. Velour Lashes are my favorite — love the Would I Lie for a natural look and they’re the easiest if you’re a beginner, while the You Complete Me lashes are my pick when I want some more drama! I use the lash strips in conjunction with the Esqido Lash Glue as it’s the best for keeping lashes in place without being too tacky that it damages my lashes. Also highly recommend this tri-fold mirror too to help with application. I could write a whole post on how I figured out how to put on my false eyelashes so let me know if that’s something you’re interested in!
Finding everyday services to outsource is huge when it comes to getting your time and sanity back. I hope these tips help you and let me know if you have any others that you recommend!

Oh I got to jump on all of these. Also you look phenomenal girly.
I keep wanting to get a housekeeper…just for like once a month because I think it would make a huge difference in our lives
When sandal season comes, I’m all about the professional pedicures. I’m a klutz with nail polish. It also just feels nice.
Everyone has her services that are best handed over to others. Growing up I remember my family had a gardener and people asked my mother why she hired a gardener when she had a “good strong son.” Her response was, “You try to get my nice strong son to mow the lawn.”
I love your red blazer and it looks perfect with that striped top.
Just thought I’d add that I do like doing my own food shopping. I like getting up close and personal with my food. I especially love it in the summer when farmers’ markets are at their prime. It is such a joy to be surrounded by beautiful fresh produce!
I totally agree with the lashes and mani/pedi. I feel like those go hand in hand with a little bit of self care! A housekeeper to do a deep clean once a month is the best.
First, that outfit is AMAZING! I love that blazer so much! 🙂 Also, I definitely think these things are worth the money. I personally don’t get my nails done or my lashes, but I think so many people love it for self care. Thanks for sharing!

I would love a blog post on apply lashes. I have never figured it out!
How often do you remove and reapply?
Hi! With my lashes, I remove them every night and reapply in the morning. It took me a couple weeks to figure out how to do it but now it takes like 2 minutes! I’ll even sometimes put them on in the car while I’m doing school drop-off for my kids in the mornings, lol.
xo,
kileen

I totally agree with you of outsourcing some other things that you don’t really know how to do or works that consumed too much time.
