Halloween is so much fun with little ones and I just love planning out their costumes every year! Dylan has always been all about the movie characters and in the past few weeks has been going back and forth between wanting to be Olaf or Sven from Frozen or Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. I took them both out shopping for costumes last weekend and knew that we’d find our perfect costumes at JCPenney! From all the different Disney princesses to characters from Frozen and Toy Story, I knew that the kids would be excited to find something to dress up as for Halloween.
Of course, Dylan saw this Buzz Lightyear costume almost immediately and was sold! Surprisingly enough, Mei didn’t have a strong opinion on costumes but did love playing with the Toy Story Jessie doll. While there wasn’t a Jessie costume in her size, I figured it would be easy enough for a little DIY! I found a cute pair of patch denim jeans and a bodysuit set with a bit of Western flair that I knew would pair perfectly to give that cowgirl vibe. And these fringe mocassins were another lucky find that really helped finish off the look! While I did go to a fabric store to pick up some cow-print fabric to sew on some DIY chaps, another option would be to cut out small strips from an animal print piece. I love the way the costumes turned out and the kids just couldn’t wait to wear it out (we may have been sporting our Halloween costumes all day last Sunday, lol!).
If you’re still looking for some Halloween costumes, now is the perfect time! JCPenney is hosting a special in-store Halloween event to help you find creative ideas for Halloween costumes! Not only does JCPenney carry a huge selection of Halloween costumes, but there are so many items available to add a little DIY element in there too! If you’re in Dallas, be sure to head out to the JCPenney at Stonebriar Centre this Saturday, October 15 from 12PM – 3PM CT where there will be a special guest influencer there to help inspire you with different Halloween costume ideas!
