Hello! I cannot contain my excitement right now — I just booked my first big trip for the year. Wait for it…. I’M GOING TO HAWAII!! Maui and Molokai, to be exact. The countdown has started and I have just over 2 weeks to prepare! First things first: swimsuits. I picked up a few pieces from two of my favorite affordable places when it comes to swimwear: Amazon and Shein swimsuits HERE. All of these finds are under $30 and the Amazon ones are all under Prime too so you’ll get 2-day shipping!
Note: For Amazon purchases, please check out using the website and not the app if it’s installed on your phone. It’s the only way that the tracking info from my links are taken into account and for me to get credit. As always, thank you so much for shopping through my links and supporting this blog!
And now, let’s get on with the try on — starting with some cute family matching swimsuits first. I’ll have a video try-on in my Instagram stories as well and Mei is actually talking as she shares her side of the try-on too (it’s pretty cute, lol!).
Amazon + Shein Swimsuits:
Thankfully my kids are still at an age where they love matching with me and I’m taking advantage of every minute of it! I don’t often see matching clothing options with my son so I jumped on the fact that the Yaffi and PatPat swimwear lines on Amazon had a great selection (more on the Yaffi website as well!).
These leopard print swimsuits couldn’t be any cuter. The women’s and girls’ styles have the cutest shoulder ruffles with the women’s style having additional support around the bust area. There’s great coverage on the backside and as far as fit goes, this one was my favorite when it comes to the family matching sets!

This blue and white striped watermelon swimsuit set is like summer in a swimsuit! So cute that there is a matching mommy and daughter option. Sizing does run big on this style (I’m wearing the S) and would definitely recommend sizing down. The bust area is padded which is a pleasant surprise, but I didn’t find that the material had as much support as the others. Similarly, the backside is on the cheekier side — add on a pair of shorts or a cute sarong wrap if you prefer more coverage!
I picked up this cute matching mommy and daughter striped swimmie set for our staycation at Great Wolf Lodge and had more people asking where I had gotten our swimsuits than ever before! I love the colorful stripes but would say that the coverage is a bit low when it comes to the women’s style. Sizing runs big and I actually had to shorten the straps on both my swimsuit as well as Mei’s in order to get it to fit. If you plan to be running around and swimming, I would say pass on this swimsuit, but if you’ll just be laying out or taking it easy poolside, then it shouldn’t be a problem!
If you only buy one swimsuit from this try-on, make it this one!! It’s seriously the most flattering bikini there ever was. The high-waisted bottoms hide all the tummy issues you might have, while still providing great backside coverage. I was wary about the string bikini top but surprisingly enough it provides amazing support and stays in place! I’m seriously considering picking it up in both the red and white cause it’s that good!
I’ve been wanting to add a leopard print swimmie and picked up this one to try out. This style has rave reviews on Amazon with 4.4 stars and 193 reviews — plus comes in 27 colors! Bandeau styles can be a bit hit or miss on me but I did find this one to have good support in the bust and the material is on the thicker side to provide additional support. The bottoms are high-waisted and are perfect for sucking in the belly, but keep in the mind that the backside is a bit on the cheekier side.
And now on to some cute one-piece swimsuits! I’ve seen this cutout style quite a bit lately and was curious to try it out with this cute rainbow striped option. I definitely understand now the perks of this style as the added coverage on the sides are great for cinching in and creating that waistline. Plus the high-waisted style is incredibly flattering for concealing tummy issues and this particular swimsuit has great backside coverage as well! The top has a tie that is removable but I personally love it for giving some added cleavage!
Can’t stop, won’t stop with the stripes! This swimmie is another top pick as it had great support and was a much better fit if you have a shorter torso. The scoop neck didn’t come too low and I just love the classic “Baywatch” style cut — perfect especially if you have little ones to chase after as well! I actually didn’t realize that there was a matching mommy + daughter option and I’m thinking I may need to pick it up for me and Mei!
And finally, a cute swimsuit option that could double as a bodysuit! I love the statement ruffles and the one-shoulder neckline that’s flirty without being revealing. The stripes are slimming and the navy / white color combination is a classic. I personally found this swimsuit to run a little bit big as well so size down!
