Dylan is starting preschool in 2 weeks and part of me still can’t believe it. Dylan will be going full-time to a local Montessori school here and I’m hopeful that it’ll be a good experience for him (even though it’ll definitely be hard on me to be away from him for so long!). Meanwhile, I did my first ever round of back-to-school shopping with the little guy a couple weekends ago as he’s completely outgrown his previous fall/winter wardrobe, and it was so much fun to see Dylan dressed up like a big boy.
I picked up this outfit from Hartstrings and love the casual yet slightly preppy look. This argyle pullover is so super-soft and will be a great layering piece when the weather gets cooler. And of course I had to get Dylan a new pair of jeans. This dark denim material is durable and sturdy, something I always look for as this boy is an explorer at heart. The style also allows for some growing room as the red contrasting interior allows for a cuffing while still looking fashionable!
Hartstrings is actually running an incredible promotion right now — 15% off sitewide, an extra 20% off $200+, and an extra 30% off $400+ using code HARTSTRINGS15. I’m in love with this whale sweater, and this striped cardigan would look so cute in that grandpa-ish kind of way…and can you even get over this fox vest??

So glad you shared this awesome outfit. Our son has been going to a Montessori daycare since 2 months (2 days a week, full time after 1 year) and we really like it. I wish I could get him to wear jeans and sneakers! Right now all he'll wear is shorts and sandals (no socks). Dylan is definitely a cutie and I know he'll do well in pre-school!
What a cutie, and that backpack is adorable. Good luck the first day (for you, because we all know he will love it)
