fresh vitamin nectar vibrancy mask | fresh black tea instant perfecting mask | fresh umbrian clay purifying mask | fresh rose face mask
Happy Friday! It’s been a long week over here and I’m really looking forward to the weekend. One of my favorite way to unwind and relax is with a quiet night at home — putting the kids to sleep, applying a face mask, and catching a movie on Netflix. The latest trend when it comes masking is what has been dubbed multi-masking or binge-masking. Instead of stopping after just one mask, the ritual is to apply two or three or more, one right after another, and rinsing in between.
The benefits of applying multiple masks at a time are three-fold:
- it satisfies multiple skin concerns in one sitting
- by applying masks back to back, you get both an instant boost as well as long-term beauty benefits
- it allows you to treat yourself to a 10-30 minute-long “me moment” for an at-home spa experience!
Fresh masks have long been one of my favorites (the Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask was my first and one that I still use several times a week!) so I was excited to try out a few different kinds of their mask options! Below is a run-down of my favorites as well as a recipe for the “Pure Perfection” mask combination — it’s seriously a major skin savor when I’m looking dull or tired and one that you have to try!
fresh black tea instant perfecting mask ($92)
This mask is hands-down my favorite! I knew I had to give this mask a shot considering how much I swear by the Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask. I have dry skin and it tends to get a little patchy around this time in the winter. The Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask is incredibly hydrating and I always notice a huge difference in just how soft, firm, and supple my skin feels afterwards. The mask itself feels plush and velvety with an immediate cooling effect that’s refreshing to the senses. Black tea ferment, also known as Kombucha, is an antioxidant that helps to defend against free radicals as well as works to reenergize the skin’s cell similar to the way it reenergizes the body when drank in a tea. If any of you travel frequently via airplane, I also highly recommend stowing this one in your handbag to apply enroute at the beginning of the flight. The hydrating properties will save your skin from the dehydrating effects of recycled air and you’ll arrive with that post-spa glow! It is a bit on the pricey side at $92 but let me tell you, it’s worth every penny and a little bit goes a loooong way.
fresh umbrian clay purifying mask ($62)
This clay mask is dubbed the “triple threat” and for good reason! It can be used as an instant purifying mask, a deep cleanser, or a spot treatment and whenever I have those days when I feel like my pores are looking clogged, I can count on this mask to help clear everything out. Some clay masks can be a little drying, but I’ve never had any issues with this one. Umbrian clay, a Fresh proprietary ingredient, is a charcoal-toned clay that features high mineral content extracted from the small town of Nocera Umbra. The mask is incredibly effective and I love that it’s fast and not harsh on my skin. For those times that I may have some acne breakouts, a few spot treatments of this mask also make a huge difference both in terms of size and redness!
fresh rose face mask ($62)
The Fresh Rose Face Maskis a cult favorite and I can definitely see why! It’s truly a mask that delivers on multiple fronts. It restores radiance and hydrates the skin with its combination of pure rosewater and smart algae while the cucumber extract and aloe vera work to reduce redness and calm the skin; finally the green tea works to brighten and protect. While the color of the mask does look dark in the jar, it goes on pretty sheer and I like that it’s one I can leave on for hours without feeling like I’m going to scare my husband or kids!
fresh vitamin nectar vibrancy mask ($62)
If you’re wanting your skin to have that healthy glow, use this mask!! The Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Mask is reported to improve the skin’s radiance by 31% after the first use and by 49% after four weeks of use. The formula is a combination of real crushed citrus fruits and contains naturally occurring AHA fruit acids to gently refine and smooth the skin, providing a minor chemical peel effect. There are tiny beads in the mask that I rub in when I rinse off to help exfoliate and I definitely see noticeably brighter skin afterwards!
And now for my favorite binge-masking recipe, the “Pure Pefection”. This concoction has been one that I’ve been using multiple times this winter already and every time I’m always amazed and just how much healthier my skin looks afterwards.
