Did you guys notice all the floral prints in this week’s Color Brigade? That’s where the inspiration for today’s top came from. I know I’ve been wearing floral quite a bit lately, but I just can’t help it. And at least I’m not the only one. 🙂
I did realize that the cardigans have been getting lots of attention lately in my outfits, so I decided to switch it up and layer a boyfriend blazer over my ruffle shell instead. I love the structured look of blazers and boyfriend styles are especially nice as I can wear them every day without people thinking I’m dressed up for an interview.
As a petite though, boyfriend blazers can run the risk of looking a little too over-sized on me and swallowing up my upper body in loose fabric. To remedy the situation, I fall back on my age-old trick of cinching everything in with a waist belt. If I could have my way, I think I would add a waist belt to everything. Seriously, everything looks better belted.
As for the last picture, I did my nails last night so I had to include a little picture of my hard work. 🙂

I like how you didn't take the concept of a boyfriend blazer too far. The length of it was just long enough to keep it office chic. YES to the skinny belt over the blazer! AHARHAR that skinny belt won't budge against a blazer (plus it looks like velvet and that material is cushiony).

haha, the shell was kinda floral-y in my opinion. maybe not, lol.
I can never stay still long enough to have my nails done. One time I was getting ready for a formal so I decided to REDO my toe nails (My toes were already painted, and I was not planning on wearing peep-toes either) but wear gloves so I wouldn't ruin my mani. Guess what! I ruined it! I got home 1 hr before I decided to do this. I am a genius (not really).

This is a great outfit. Work appropriate, but still stylish. I love the color! And I'm with you on the belting thing. Being petite, it's the easiest way to make things seem like a better fit. Plus, it creates a lovely silhouette!
