I was recently inspired by this picture in the NYTimes and fished out my cobalt blue dress from last season (shhh!) to style for today. Cobalt blue is such a great transition color from summer to fall {although we’re still very much in the middle of summer here in Texas!} so I can definitely see this dress getting more wear as the weather gets cooler. To break up the solid blue, I added a fun leopard skinny belt and some turquoise stones for a necklace. This necklace actually broke on my a few weeks ago {stones splattered everywhere!!} and I have no idea how it was originally put together. So I just went the easy route and strung together the most obvious beads and called it a day. In the end, I kinda like the simplicity of the new necklace, lol. What do guys think? 🙂
Thanks so much for reading and have a great weekend! I’m finally finishing up those wedding thank-you cards. Yeah, I’m only 3-months late…

Good job with the necklace repair, it's cute! I love all of your mix of blues here 🙂
Adorable! Love cobalt on you.
Also, I never realized you took your own photos (at least I think I see a wireless remote in your hand). How do you do that without it being awkward?
The blue color is so pretty on you. I like your accessory choice of the belt and watch. They look fabulous together.
haha, it's definitely awkward to take your own pictures, especially when i have a giant tripod in the middle of the sidewalk and tons of cars are driving by. but i just suck it up and keep on going. the trick is to just try and ignore everybody who's staring. 🙂
what a pretty color and pattern combo!
Love your dress!

I love the hues of blues! <3
I love the hues of blues! Great girly outfit!
love the blue dress!!
Beautifully blue (and just beautiful period). Just an awesome look! The dress is fabulous, and I like your accessories to go with it. And of course, nothing says chic like a pair of platform, high-heel, peep-toe pumps. Great stuff!

I love the combination of cobalt + turquoise or aqua. The leopard print adds that little something extra. Necklace looks great – can't even tell that it was broken before.
Re: thank you notes, I heard that the etiquette for sending out wedding thank you notes is a year, so you've still got time. ;D I'm sure you want to get them out sooner as opposed to later, though, so I hear you.
I've rescently bought a dress in the same cobal color and my friend took some pictures of me in it today) What a coincidence!)
Love this look on you, love the color, love leopard print belt and this awesome shoes.

I hope your temperatures start to cool down soon!
Oh that's good to hear about the thank-you notes! Someone told me that it was 2 months and I was getting nervous!
Omg, I hope it cools down too!
I love this dress – and at $30.00, it was quite a steal! Very cute.

the insolia inserts weren't that great, unfortunately… i had high hopes, but they didn't really do that much for me. i'm back to using my CVS foot cushions… :
I really like the way the necklace goes perfectly with that cobalt blue dress. And the leopard print belt is adorbs.
