Recently I had the opportunity to try out a new concept boutique that opened up in Dallas. Blushington is a makeup and beauty lounge specializing in makeup application, using brands such as Stila, Kevyn Aucoin, and even Temptu for airbrushing.
If you’re familiar with the Dry Bar concept, Blushington is very similar. Upon taking a seat in the vanity chair, I was presented with a menu of makeup looks:
I chose to go for the “Smoke and Mirrors” look, but mentioned that I wanted something that was still daytime appropriate. My makeup artist, Kate Conkey, immediately started working her magic.
As I sat back and enjoyed my hour of pampering, Kate and I chatted away. I quickly learned that Kate had previous experience as a model and later did makeup for the London Fashion show. How amazing it it that we have such amazing talent right here in Dallas?
Kate finished off my look with a set of false lashes and light application of lip stain. I have to admit that when I glanced in the mirror, I was impressed. I’ve had makeup done before at MAC stores as well as at Sephora and various department stores, but this look was different. My makeup didn’t feel cakey, and it was just the right balance of looking polished yet natural. Also, Asian eyes can be a bit tricky to work with but Kate definitely knew how to play them up and bring mine out.
Can you tell how much I love it?
If you’re looking to get dolled up for a night out or just want to look put together for every day, definitely check out Blushington. Don’t forget there are weekday specials too!
And now for the best part: the lovely people at Blushington were kind enough to offer me 3 giveaways for my readers. be sure to sign up!
Have you ever had your makeup done before? What was your experience like?
Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to have a full facial makeup application done for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
