I’ve loved the boyfriend jeans look for awhile now but never found the right pair of jeans. My problem was that I was always looking for jeans labeled “boyfriend jeans”. Those jeans always ended up looking several sizes too big and a bit sloppy on my petite frame. Finally, a bell went off in my head. Why not just size up on normal jeans? And so I did.
Express has some amazing distressed jeans and I really loved the natural worn-in look. Their jeans can be kind of hit or miss (they run a little big on me) but I figured since I’m going for a slouchier, slightly baggy look, it would probably be ok. I chose these “skinny” jeans in their ankle length and it ended up working out just like I wanted! Not too baggy but just baggy enough. And the ankle length ended up as full-length on my short legs, so it was perfect for me to roll up without being too bulky. I’m so glad to have finally found my version of a boyfriend jean!
This weekend has been glorious. It’s been lots of downtime filled with time spent at the park, evening walks with Dylan in his buggy, and catching up with old friends over brunch (Sfuzzi’s has a great spinach salad!). I’m watching both my boys take an afternoon nap right now and it’s hard not to realize this is the good stuff in life. I’m so lucky to be here.
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

It think 90% of my jeans comes from Express. I have to say that your whole look is great! I really like how you paired the jeans with nude heels. You look comfortable and effortless.
The jeans fit just perfect! It is hard to find the right ones, it took me forever, loving the super high heels! Yay for the lovely weekend!

I love the idea of your boyfriend jean substitution! When I tried on that trend in stores, I was thinking "I can just take one of my brother's old jeans if this is how it is suppose to look." Love your idea!

Oh I love a good pair of boyfriend jeans! You look great! x

Great idea! I've wanted a pair of boyfriend jeans too and ordered one from A&F that I returned cause it was just way too big (even their smallest size). I'll definitely try Express!

Awe, these photos are so cute!
I've never really been a big fan of boyfriend jeans on me, but great idea on just sizing up! I'll have to try it 🙂

Dylan is so cute!!! The perfect little accessory 🙂
I've never been a big fan of boyfriend jeans, because I tend to wear a lot of flats and boyfriend jeans just look sloppy when you're not wearing heels. But then I'd feel so weird wearing heels with beat up jeans, haha. These look really great on you though!
heels with beat-up jeans is a bit weird, but that's kinda why i like the look so much. 🙂 i think if i had long legs, i could pull off the look with flats or sneaks, but i'm stuck with my stumpy legs. these sandals were still pretty comfortable though with the chunky heel.
I am usually not the biggest fan of boyfriend jeans. I'm not saying that because I'm a guy, but because I just don't like them all that much. A look I've grown to love is pairing boyfriend jeans with a nice pair of heeled shoes. These skin-tone wedges are very nice to go with these boyfriend jeans. Great style, Kileen.
