I never thought I’d see the day when I’d be wearing a poncho, but when Burberry came out with this version in their Fall 2014 lineup, I was definitely smitten with the color-blocking design as well as the effortlessly elegant drape. This rendition from SheInside is remarkably similar (without the hefty price tag!) and I simply love it! It’s the perfect layering piece over a simple outfit and I absolutely love the combination of classic red, camel, and black colors. While it is oversized, I still think that even a petite (I’m 5′ tall) can pull it off as long as it’s balanced out with something slim-fitting on the bottom (skinny jeans and tall boots for me!).
Meanwhile, a poncho that doubled as a blanket was pretty much exactly what I needed today. Both Adrian and Dylan are sick with what seems like the flu (101° fever for the little guy – yikes!) so being able to throw on a poncho that doubled as a blanket was so nice for keeping us all warm and cozy this time of year. Keeping my fingers crossed that the worst of this sickness is over!

I'm not one to jump on many fashion bandwagons, but I do admit I have dreamed about this Burberry poncho since I saw it on OP. This is a lovely fall look Kileen!
