The combat boots trend is back and my inner 90s child could not be more excited! Adrian and I were talking about how we both owned 2-3 pairs of Dr. Martens back in our middle school years and that they were our first major shoe splurge at the time. I still remember how I’d wear the boots everyday to school, feeling tough and thinking I was super cool 😆 — anyone else?
If only I’d saved my Dr. Martens from those days (I had the ‘1460’ style in both brown and black) as the style is back! I’m all about a comfy pair of boots these days and while I couldn’t quite justify purchasing another pair of Dr. Martens boots just yet (these are on my wishlist!), I picked up this super similar pair from Steve Madden and am obsessed. The lace-up style is perfect for giving that tough, edgy look and while it’s hard to see, this style actually has an inside zipper too, making them great for quick and easy on/off! Plus, there’s a mini 0.75″ platform along with 1.75″ heel that gives me just a subtle bit of added height and makes my legs look just a teensy bit longer (I’ll take it!). At 15% off and free shipping right now, be sure to get a pair while your size is in stock!!

Combat Boots Trend
When it comes to pairing outfits, combat boots are surprisingly more versatile than you might think! You can’t go wrong with a simple pair of black jeans like I did here, but I’m also excited to style mine with skirts and shorts once the weather warms up. It’s a great way to toughen up a look and the juxtaposition of edgy and feminine is such a chic combination!
I also added in this teddy coat and I just love the pop of plaid that gives it a preppy vibe. It’s incredibly soft and warm, making for a great layering piece as we’re still in the thick of winter weather here!

First of all, I have to comment on these pictures, because they are some of my favorites EVER. You got so creative and super cute with these, and the edits look fantastic as well. Beautiful tones! As far as the shoes – and entire outfit goes – I’m in love! Doc Martens were always on my wishlist growing up, but I never got a pair. It’s kinda fun knowing they’re back in style again (or maybe that they never truly went out?) because it’s a good reason for me to finally snag a pair – or something similar, like yours!

This is a super cute look, and the shoes totally make it. I never wore combat boots in the 90s (I was more of the jelly sandals type myself) but I love to see the style come back around.
