Goodness, I think you tell how I tired I am from these photos! Those undereye bags are really making an appearance, aren’t they? Dylan had a couple of days where he was waking up at 5:30 am and needless to say it caught up to me. Oh how precious sleep is these days.
I decided to do a little mixing of textures by pairing a thick, cropped sweater with this light, silky top. We’re on the cusp of Spring already and this outfit just seemed to combine elements of the two seasons perfectly. I decided to take advantage of the cropped cut of this sweater and layer it over this bright, radiant orchid shirt. Black and white always pairs well with brights and the windowpane print just happens to hit the latest style trend too.
And what would an outfit be without a statement jewelry piece? This necklace from Chloe + Isabel is one of my new favorites and I’m excited to be hosting a fun event with them for the next two weeks (in case you’re wondering, we did have a previous event set up but ran into some technical issues with Facebook so we’re rebooting and starting this week). You’re all invited to join in on the event and there will be a raffle drawing for some great prizes!

P.S. In case you missed it:
- Tulle Skirt – A bargain find of a pretty tulle skirt.
- Giveaway – Win a skincare sample pack of a product line that uses camel’s milk!
Such nice layering! The cropped top is beautiful with the purple shirt, it pairs so nicely as a splash of colour with the black and white 🙂

I LOVE the colour of the shirt. ♥
Ooh this outfit combination is amazing! I agree with Mica, the layering is very nice! And you can wear the purple color so well.

Haha Kileen! You look so much better than me even with little sleep. I have a 3.5 month old baby and I am a caffeinated walking zombie these days. 🙂
Omg, that was one of the hardest months! I was barely functioning during that point. It does get so much better though!
Oh dear! I hope you get some sleep soon! I love this cropped sweater! It looks great with the purple blouse!
I LOVE the outfit combination, Kileen! What size is your Portofino shirt? It looks much longer than the ones I own (in XS).
I'm wearing XS too… Maybe it's just the cropped top that makes it look longer? It hits right around my hips on either side.
That's very creative way of wearing a cropped sweater! lovely colors!
Such a great idea of what to do with a cropped sweater…love it!
Btw, meant to tell you congrats on your baby!! i remember you saying awhile ago at 20 weeks that you were playing it safe with the pregnancy and i'm so glad to hear everything worked out for you! hugs and kisses for your sweet little babe! <3
Thank you, Kileen! Yes, it's been awesome and busy at the same time! 🙂
And yes, I remember reading that you use the attachment parenting style and your hubby is more traditional. Same here! It's not easy.
For sure! Fortunately we're both on the same page as far as positive disciplining is concerned, which is a big point for me. I've also been able to convince hubby on a few things (cloth diapers, baby wearing). I did have to compromise and decided to do sleep training with a gradual Cry-It-Out method even though it broke my heart. I do have to say though that even though sleep training was incredibly heart-wrenching at first, the entire family is better off for it since everyone was sleeping better. In the end, it's all worked out. Best of luck to you! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. 🙂
Thanks, Kileen. Also, when you wear the Portofino shirt, do normally tuck it in or out? I wanted to wear it tucked out, but where it hit against my hip/waist, it was very loose.
I've worn it both way actually! You can see previous ways that I've worn the shirt: http://cutenlittle.wpengine.com/search/label/express%20radiant%20orchid%20shirt. Maybe you can consider a half-tuck look if it's too loose in the front? That's how I wore it here: http://cutenlittle.wpengine.com/2014/01/radiant-orchid-navy-stripes.html.
Hope that helps! 🙂
Thanks, Kileen. ^_^
