on me: star sweater | distressed jeans | Adidas sneakers | tassel earrings
on grace: white top | stripe jeans | similar dad sneakers
You would think that as a fashion blogger I’d always have a batch of fresh Spring outfits to share with you all, but lately, with work getting busy and our schedules getting busy with the kids, I just haven’t been keeping up! A few weeks ago, Grace from Trunk Club Dallas found me on Instagram and invited me in to the Dallas Trunk Club Clubhouse to get styled and check out some new spring arrivals — I had heard so much about Trunk Club from other bloggers recently so I decided it would be a great chance to check it out in person!
If you’re not familiar with Trunk Club, it’s a clothing subscription service where answer a few questions to identify your style, connect with an experienced stylist that matches your profile, and then curates a capsule set of 6-10 items for you in a box (or “trunk”) that’s delivered to your doorstep. A few select cities have Trunk Club Clubhouses where you have the opportunity to actually come in to get styled and I personally loved getting to meet my stylist, Grace, in person (this girl is seriously #stylegoals, y’all). Weekend appointments are available and the Dallas space is so open, airy, and chic!
While I’ve tried a few clothing subscription services in the past, what really sets Trunk Club apart from the others is that it’s owned by Nordstrom! I get the brands and selection that I’m familiar with from Nordstrom, as well as the amazing customer service that they’re known for! There’s no commitment to buy and the service is completely free if you own a Nordstrom card (otherwise it’s only a $25 stylist fee per box) — I personally highly recommend getting the Nordstrom card now as you’ll be thanking me later when it comes time for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in July!
I met up with my stylist Grace a few Saturdays ago and was excited to see a clothing rack prepared with lots of spring goodies to try on! Note that Grace hadn’t received my style profile yet so a few of the items are a bit higher than my usual budget, but everything was oh-so-cute and I left the clubhouse with so much spring inspiration!
10 Fresh Spring Outfits:
OUTFIT 1:
Jacket: Madewell Surplus Cotton Utility Jacket (XS / size down, similar)
Top: Madewell Whisper Cotton V-Neck Tee (XS / TTS)
Bottom: Good American ‘Good Legs’ High Waisted Jeans (0 / size down)
Shoes: Adidas ‘Superstar’ Sneakers (6 / size up)
Bag: Madewell ‘Transport’ Tote
Necklace: Kendra Scott ‘Phara’ Tassel Lariat
This outfit is one of my favorites and I was tempted to walk out of the clubhouse in this ensemble! I’ve been wanting to add more Madewell to my closet and both this utility jacket and cotton tee are some of their bestsellers (more reviews here and here).
Madewell Surplus Cotton Utility Jacket – A utility jacket is definitely a must-have for spring and I love that this one can cinch at the waist for a more fitted look. Sizing runs big in my opinion and while I’m wearing my usual XS here, I’d recommend going down a size. My stylist gave me the recommendation of wearing it with the collar “popped” and I definitely agree it makes the look extra chic!
Madewell Whisper Cotton V-Neck Tee – I’ve heard non-stop good things about this tee and if you’re looking for a classic t-shirt that’s not see-through and has the perfect relaxed fit, this is the one. I definitely came home with this tee and it’ll be on repeat this summer for sure!
Madewell ‘Transport’ Tote – Yet another classic that has tons of rave reviews! I know several friends who own this bag and I can definitely see why. The leather is incredible quality and I just love the contrasting tan handle against the black satchel (bag also comes in all-over tan). It’s professional enough to use for work yet also casual enough for every day.
Good American ‘Good Legs’ High Waisted Jeans – Good American Jeans always look so good when I see them on other people so I was excited to have a pair to try for myself! Sizing does run large so even a size 0 shown here was a bit too big on me. But, I love the high-waisted fit and it was comfortable all throughout while still giving slight compression.
Kendra Scott ‘Phara’ Tassel Lariat – Kendra Scott has been one of my favorite jewelry brands for years but it’s been a while since I’ve updated with their latest pieces. I love this tassel necklace and it’s such a versatile piece that can layer over so many outfits! I love it wrapped around the neck with the 2 tassels on either side as I have shown here or knotted in the front as shown in outfit #9 below and on the model. It’s a bit pricey but Kendra Scott jewelry is always a timeless classic that I wear year after year, making them worthwhile statement investment pieces!
OUTFIT 2:
Jacket: Free People ‘Rumors’ Denim Jacket in indigo blue (XS) – (also here)
Top: Rails ‘Mira’ Metallic Stripe Peplum Tank (XS)
Bottom: Good American ‘Good Legs’ High Waisted Jeans (0 / size down)
Shoes: Adidas ‘Superstar’ Sneakers (6 / size up)
Free People ‘Rumors’ Denim Jacket – Jean jackets are another spring must-have and while I have a couple that are a darker wash, I absolutely fell in love with this lighter wash option from Free People! While Free People typically runs a bit larger, this style is cropped and is perfect if you’re more petite! I shared this jacket on my Instagram a couple of weeks ago and it sold out almost instantly on Nordstrom but did find the exact one here! The fabric is so super soft and this jacket for sure came home with me!
Rails ‘Mira’ Metallic Stripe Peplum Tank – I love a top that is both relaxed yet refined. This adorable peplum top has subtle metallic pinstripes that are absolutely beautiful and the subtle high-low drape is so flattering. The light linen fabric is perfect for when the weather warms up and I love that you don’t have to worry about it wrinkling!
OUTFIT 3:
Jacket: Free People ‘Rumors’ Denim Jacket (XS)
Dress: Free People ‘Greatest Day’ Smocked Dress (XS)
Shoes: Adidas ‘Superstar’ Sneakers (6 / size up)
Earrings: Baublebar ‘Contessa’ Tassel Drops
Free People ‘Rumors’ Denim Jacket – Jean jackets are another spring must-have and while I have a couple that are a darker wash, I absolutely fell in love with this lighter wash option from Free People! While Free People typically runs a bit larger, this style is cropped and is perfect if you’re more petite! I shared this jacket on my Instagram a couple of weeks ago and it sold out almost instantly on Nordstrom but did find the exact one here! The fabric is so super soft and this jacket for sure came home with me!
Free People ‘Greatest Day’ Smocked Dress – I’m still debating whether to go back and get this dress as I just love the cute minidress style. The cut is incredibly flattering with the smocked bodice and the flared out skirt. Plus, the vibrant orange-red color is just such a burst of springtime cheer! Sizing does run big so go down if you’re in-between.
OUTFIT 4:
Top: Vince Mock Neck Silk Shell (XS) – (similar)
Bottom: Leith Pleat Front Trousers (XS / size down)
Earrings: Gas Bijoux Celeste Hoops – (similar)
Vince Mock Neck Silk Shell – Oh if only this top was just a little more in my budget! I love love love the gathered pleating at the neckline and the powdery blue color is elegant yet feminine. The silk fabric is light, airy, and allows the fabric to drape so beautifully! I requested my stylist, Grace, to help me find a similar one at a lower price point for my next Trunk Club box and excited to share it soon. But, here’s hoping that this Vince option will go on sale soon before it sells out!
Leith Pleat Front Trousers – I’ve seen so many rave reviews of these trousers and can definitely say that these do not disappoint! A huge reason I don’t wear more trousers is that I don’t like the way they squeeze my thighs but these are absolutely perfect! I love that they’re looser of a fit yet still very sleek, tailored, and stylish. Sizing does run big (I actually requested a size XXS in my next box to show you soon!).
Gas Bijoux Celeste Hoops – I didn’t get a good close-up picture of these earrings but I am absolutely obsessed with them! These are the most gorgeous royal blue with gold beading scattered throughout. I actually ended up purchasing them in the white / gold color and they’re the perfect elegant statement earring!
OUTFIT 5:
Jacket: Madewell Surplus Cotton Utility Jacket (XS / size down, similar)
Dress: Rag & Bone ‘Aiden’ T-Shirt Dress (XS) – (similar)
Shoes: Adidas ‘Superstar’ Sneakers (6 / size up)
Bag: All Saints ‘Kepi’ Mini Crossbody
Madewell Surplus Cotton Utility Jacket – A utility jacket is definitely a must-have for spring and I love that this one can cinch at the waist for a more fitted look. Sizing runs big in my opinion and while I’m wearing my usual XS here, I’d recommend going down a size. My stylist gave me the recommendation of wearing it with the collar “popped” and I definitely agree it makes the look extra chic!
Rag & Bone ‘Aiden’ T-Shirt Dress – T-shirt dresses are a go-to whenever I’m looking for a casual look that’s comfy yet put together. I’ve actually never tried anything from Rag & Bone except their jeans but this dress definitely impressed! It’s hard to see but there is a subtle vertical seam down the middle front that creates the illusion of an elongated figure (amen!). The kids were actually rubbing up against me after I put on this dress so there was quite a bit of static build-up when I tried to take pictures, but trust me that this t-shirt dress has the most beautiful drape!
All Saints ‘Kepi’ Mini Crossbody – I never considered All Saints for their handbags but I love this one (and apparently I’ve been living under a rock as there are so many good reviews too!). The size of this crossbody is perfect — too too big and not too small — plus the light peach-pink color is so perfect for spring! Love the stitching detail down the sides along with the fun tassels that give it a vintage yet whimsical vibe.
OUTFIT 6:
Jacket: Free People ‘Rumors’ Denim Jacket (XS)
Top: similar striped tee (on sale!)
Bottom: Paige Vintage ‘Hoxton’ High Waist Jeans (25)
Paige Vintage ‘Hoxton’ High Waist Jeans – I love that Grace picked out new denim for me to try as I tend to stick with a couple of brands and rarely branch out. These Paige jeans are a great petite option (I’m wearing a size 25 but needed a 24) as the raw hem makes them easy for altering if you’re shorter. While these are a high-rise style, I didn’t find that these were overly high and the denim was so stretchy and comfy. Take advantage of the 50% off deal on this pair!
OUTFIT 7:
Dress: Equipment ‘Anitone’ Faux Wrap Dress (XS / size down) – (similar)
Earrings: Baublebar ‘Contessa’ Tassel Drops
Equipment ‘Anitone’ Faux Wrap Dress – This dress is perfect for the office and I love the elegant wrap style that’s still professional with the lapel collar. The falling dandelion print is beautiful and this would make for a great office outfit year round!
OUTFIT 8:
Cardigan: Eileen Fisher Elbow Sleeve Cardigan (XS / size down)
Top: L’Agence Jane Spaghetti Strap Top (XS) – (similar – on sale!)sold out at Nordstrom
Bottom: Good American ‘Good Legs’ High Waisted Jeans (0 / size down)
Eileen Fisher Elbow Sleeve Cardigan – I love a good cardigan and Eileen Fisher is actually a brand I hadn’t tried before (another perk of Trunk Club!). I really love the relaxed yet polished style of this one with the drop shoulders and subtle silk threads that are woven into the fabric. I love the clean, simple lines and the longer length is surprisingly elongating as well! I’ll definitely be keeping this brand in mind when I order in the future.
L’Agence Jane Spaghetti Strap Top – I’ve actually been wanting to add a leopard print cami to my closet for some time now as I love layering them underneath cardigans. The silk charmeause fabric gives it a very sleek look and the darker leopard print makes it a great option for those dressier occasions as well! This one actually sold out at Nordstrom already but I did find it available here!
OUTFIT 9:
Jumpsuit: Chelsea28 Pinstripe V-Neck Jumpsuit (0) – (similar, similar)
Necklace: Kendra Scott ‘Phara’ Tassel Lariat
Chelsea28 Pinstripe V-Neck Jumpsuit – I love a good jumpsuit and vertical stripes are always a win (it really does help slim)! I love that the waist is naturally tapered and there are even sleeves for a bit of added coverage as well. The pants are a wide-leg cropped look but make for a perfect full-length style on me that would be perfect for showing off a cute pair of shoes!
I wore it wrapped around the neck with the 2 tassels on either side as I wore in outfit #1 above or knotted in the front as shown here and on the model. It’s a bit pricey but Kendra Scott jewelry is always a timeless classic that I wear year after year, making them worthwhile statement investment pieces!
OUTFIT 10:
Top: J.Crew ‘Tippi’ Sweater with Liberty Print Collar (M) – on sale!
Bottom: Good American ‘Good Legs’ High Waisted Jeans (0 / size down)
J.Crew ‘Tippi’ Sweater with Liberty Print Collar – The J.Crew ‘Tippi’ sweaters are already a fave in my closet (I have 3 of them, at least!) and love this one that features a faux layered collar with the cutest Liberty print! They didn’t have this one in my size (I’m usually an XS) but I couldn’t resist trying it on — would be perfect layered under a denim jacket too!
Whew, props to you if you read this far! So many good things here and my stylist, Grace, seriously killed it with her first set of outfit picks for me! I highly recommend Trunk Club if you’re looking to spruce up your wardrobe and I love that you can set your schedule when it comes to delivery. It’s completely free just for being a Nordstrom cardholder and I can’t wait to show you my second box (get a sneak peek at one of the outfits here!).
pin for later!
