I can’t even believe that Dylan’s 2-year birthday is coming up in a few days here! This little guy is such a joy these days and it’s so amazing to see his personality grow more and more every day. Since Dylan’s birthday is July 3 and a party is hard to plan with the 4th of July holiday weekend, we’re planning on having a small family celebration at home on his actual birthday and then throwing the actual party with friends in another few weeks. I had picked out his presents a couple weeks ago, but wanted to get a fun little card for him to open up and enjoy too!
I recently learned that Hallmark came out with a new line of value cards that are affordably priced at $0.47 and $0.97. Cards for less than $1 — heck yes! I headed out to my local Walmart and found a huge selection with cards for just about every occasion.
After going through nearly 20 or so cards, I narrowed it down to 2 picks. It was so hard to decide which one Dylan would like more! One the one hand, he loves big trucks and anything with wheels like a tractor. On the other hand, he’s also a big fan of cute animals and loves the idea of singing and dancing. I ended up going with the second option as I figured he’d get more of a kick out of the multiple little animals.
The card turned out to be a huge hit! No sooner had I taken it out of the shopping bag was it in Dylan’s hands already! He was immediately enamored with the cat and loved pointing out all the letters that he recognized too.
Make sure you check out Hallmark and sign up for the rewards program. For every 5 cards, you receive a new reward! There are some pretty amazing incentives that even include Starbucks gift cards! And tune in to the #ValueCards conversation on Twitter too to learn more.

I love that you're doing 2 celebrations for his birthday–that's a great idea for one that falls near a holiday, and I also love that you used a card to help make the "real thing" special! #client
