This outfit was suuuuper last minute. It’s not really anything special and I was kinda tempted not to blog about it today, but I figured maybe you guys would still appreciate seeing the fact that not every day is a home-run outfit day. I do really love this drapey leaf cutout necklace though and think it adds a bit of visual interest to the otherwise simple chambray + skirt combination.
I do have a good reason for the simple outfit though, in case you’re wondering. First of all, I had gone to bed almost two hours later than normal as my future father-in-law was in town for the night and we enjoyed ourselves some amazing conversation at my favorite Dallas sushi restaurant. Unfortunately this meant I didn’t get a chance to figure out an outfit the night before and had to get creative this morning on not-enough-sleep and a fuzzy brain that was still half asleep. Annnd… I actually had to figure out an outfit to wear for Porsche driving!
The back story on the Porsche driving is that my
dad retired a few months and had bought his dream car (a
Porsche 911 Turbo) not long afterwards. He
then received an invitation from Porsche a few weeks later to attend their Porsche World
Roadshow event that was being held here in the DFW area. The event
would include an autocross course as well as race track where attendees could drive different Porsche cars (provided by Porsche) and get driving tips from Porshe’s professional driving team. The invitation only allowed two people to attend, and being that my mom doesn’t really like cars very much, I had to take advantage of this opportunity! It’s not everyday that I get to drive a Porsche around a race track… 🙂

very cute outfit well put together 🙂 i love the boyfriend button down top.

haha that photo of you and your dad is adorable!
These pictures are so pretty! Honestly, I don't think this outfit looks simple at all. I think it's beautifully put together.
I think it's a great everyday outfit 😀 And the necklace is really cute – it definitely adds some interest ^^
That's really cool that you and your dad got invited to the event and had the opportunity to drive on the race track! Hope you had fun 😀
I think the outfit is really pretty. I love blue on you. Also, that was such a cool opportunity for you to go to. It It must have been a really fun way to spend time with your dad.
My Heart Blogged
Kileen, only you would drive around a racetrack in heels! Bad.ass.
haha, actually i drove barefoot. i wanted to feel the acceleration directly
from the pedal when i stepped on it. it was pretty amazing. 🙂
i adore that layered necklace! the photos are just beautiful too!!!
I hope you had so much driving around the race track. Did you really do it in heels though? Anyway you are completely correct that not everyday is a good outfit day but I appreciate your honesty in sharing what you wore. It is very classic but not bad in anyway I would wear it in a heart beat.
Cheers,
Bre

This outfit is really cute Kileen….the interesting details on the skirt and your jewelry do make this a home run 🙂
You look really happy and so cute – even though the outfit is simple it is gorgeous. Cheers!
Once again, looking cute while wearing a cute outfit! The skirt and pumps are lovely. Also very cool for a lovely petite to ride around in a Porsche. I'm a car fan, so I understandably think it's cool for you to be around a Porsche (let alone take a ride in one).

Wow!! So gorgeous! That's definitely an outfit that I would totally wear! I love the beautiful scenery as well! <3
I wish this shirt was closer to the body. looks too loose to be tucked in.
yeah, i actually really regret buying this shirt. it's way too big and loose on me. i was hoping that drying it on super high heat would help but unfortunately it didn't. 🙁 now i'm back on the hunt for a good chambray shirt.
I really like this outfit, Kileen. The colors are perfect and it came together nicely.
Hope you had fun at the Porche thing!
Kileen…u are just too adorable for words! Hats off to you for blogging as much as you! I have no idea how you do it!
