Hello! I can’t believe how quick this week is flying by and we’re heading into June already! The kids just finished their last day of school and I’ve been busy getting them transitioning into a summer schedule, not to mention that June is one of the busiest months for my work (I’m a software developer full-time). I wanted to pop in and share a look that I wore last week that actually garnered a surprising number of compliments at the office.
This sweater is a new closet addition from LOFT and I love that it’s lightweight enough for warmer temps yet still keeps me warm for the chilly air-conditioned office as well. The marled texture also has a fun mix of jewel-toned colors while still being neutral enough to pair with just about anything — plus the slightly flared sleeves are just different enough to set it apart. The back also has a unique v-cut that isn’t too deep yet adds a nice detail for those days when you want to wear your hair up!
These jeans I also picked up a few months ago and they’re a new summer favorite for sure! I’m loving the distressed ankle hem trend on denim these days and love that this pair comes in petite sizing to make them a perfect fit off the rack! I actually ordered the wrong size (I’m typically a 00P at Express) but found that the size 0P fit really well so I would suggest to maybe size up if you are in between. I’ve worn these jeans with sneakers (these white ones are my fave and on sale right now!) when I’m running errands but also look great with a chic pair of espadrilles if you’re wanting something dressier (I just picked up this pair and love the nude color and simple straps that really seem to help make your legs look long!).
Meanwhile I wanted to share a quick photo trick that I’ve been using for years when it comes to creating the look of thigh gap in pictures. To begin with, thigh gap or no thigh gap, I personally find that it can be an unrealistic notion at times and that we really should be accepting of our bodies. Taking pictures is all about good angles and good lighting, but I did want to share a thigh gap trick for those of you who do maybe want that look in your pictures.
2 Simple Tricks for Thigh Gap
- Tip your hips back so that you angle your butt behind you.
- Separate your heels just a couple inches apart.
And that’s it! Simply sticking your butt out just a bit helps create that space at the top of the thighs and adding just a bit of space at the heels prevents your legs from looking too bow-legged or unnatural. Remember that just a little bit goes a long way with this trick! 😊

Oh I love this cozy look! It’s been raining and cold here in DC lately so this is a great outfit inspo for cold summer days!
The tips are awesome! It’s weird because in real life I have a thigh gap but in photos, the way I stand and pose, I bring my legs closer together, one foot in front so I close the gap. I should use these tricks!
