You guys, what a week it’s been! I had this past Monday off from work for Columbus Day and it just so happened that the kids also had the day off from school. I had all these plans to take the kids out on the town and to have a fun day hitting all their favorite spots around town — part of me missed the days when I was a stay-at-home mom and wanted to relive a day in the life again. The day started off perfectly with amazing weather and a trip out to the lake to feed the ducks with a trip to the lake to feed the ducks! I loved watching Dylan chase the ducks around (he had picked out his favorite Bumblebee Boy shirt with the built-in cape so it was just flying in the wind behind him), and it was all just too cute! We followed it up with a trip to the Perot Museum and spent a good 2.5 hours there checking out the dinosaurs and playing in the children’s museum area. It wasn’t even until after we stopped for a sushi lunch and frozen yogurt afterwards that I then ran into car troubles and wasn’t able to start the engine! Long story short, I ended up spending the rest of the afternoon trying to get my battery jumped only to then realize that it was actually a problem with my starter. Three hours later (and with a Mei who took a power nap in my arms while we waited on the curb), I was finally able to get my car towed to a repair shop and get things checked out. I couldn’t even believe the turn of events but thank goodness there was never any danger and it just ended up being a minor repair!
And so, all this to say that I’m sorry this post didn’t go up in time but at least here we are! I wore this look over the weekend with the kids and we had such a fun time putting up all our Halloween decor in the front yard! We received a catalog in the mail from Oriental Trading a few weeks ago and no-joke Dylan has spent hours pouring over every single page, checking out all the toys / decorations, and even coming up with stories for a few! I couldn’t be happier to partner with them to help add some Halloween spirit to our outdoor decor and let the kids pick out a few toys for themselves too (be sure to check out pics of their toys at the end!). This Southwestern scarf is seriously one of my favorites from last year and I’m so glad that Nordstrom brought it back this year! It’s the perfect lightweight layering piece for when it’s not too cold and I love that it’s not quite as bulky as some of my other blanket scarves. The colors are just so Fall and you can even check out how I styled it here last year!

Mei loves playing with my sunglasses and I was literally dying over how hard she was rocking my latest Ray-Bans!
