My work schedule has been getting busier these days (hopefully it’ll lighten up by the end of the month!) so I love the ease and simplicity of having a comfortable dress when it comes to getting dressed in the morning. The floral shirt dress style has always been a favorite of mine and I happened to stumble across this one when I was browsing Amazon a few weeks ago after putting the kids to bed (I’m often surprised by the affordable and on-trend fashion options that I find on Amazon and love the Prime shipping!). The button-down front gives it a professional, clean-cut look that makes this floral shirt dress a great piece to style for the office with a pair of pumps yet it can be easily transitioned into happy hour / date night by swapping in strappy heels or even dressed down for errands with sneakers (see on me). I love the classic stripes of this dress and the waist tie is perfect for giving it added shape — a nice touch especially if you’re petite!
When it comes to sizing for this floral shirt dress, I did size up after reading some of the reviews but actually wish I would have stayed with my usual size as I find that it’s actually just a little bit baggy and long on me overall (although not enough return / exchange it, lol). I would say size up if you prefer a looser fit as shown here or are large busted, but stay with your usual size otherwise. : )
This is my second pair of these ‘Yaro’ sandals by Sam Edelman and they are some of my favorite block heel sandals at the moment (I also own it in the color oatmeal suede and it’s the perfect nude!). The hot pink is such a fun pop of color and they’re even on sale right now for 20% off! If you’re looking for ways to wear it, I styled it in a couple outfits here — you’d be surprised at how much they actually go with!
And can we take a minute to appreciate these dahlias? I picked these up from a sidewalk flower stall on my recent trip to Portland and couldn’t get over how beautiful they were! Dahlias were on every corner of the city and they were seriously some of the most incredible, large, ombre-colored blooms!
