I feel like fur, when done correctly, can be a stylish addition to an otherwise simple outfit. This fur-trimmed cardigan was just the right mix of cozy and chic to keep me warm on this windy day. I love the longer drape in the back and while I wasn’t sure about the functional purpose of the drawstring, it is such a lovely detail nonetheless!
Meanwhile, I’m in a bit of a zombie mom fog today. For the last 2 weeks Dylan has figured out how to climb out of his crib and bedtime has become a 1-hour ritual of continuously walking him back to his bed. And then there’s the 5am wake-up where he decides it’s time to get up for the day and play! After hearing so many stories from other parents about their toddlers climbing out of bed, I was secretly hoping that this was a phase Dylan would magically skip. But at less than 6 weeks out from my due date and here we are reliving the sleep deprivation days again… I ended up ordering this alarm clock this afternoon and am keeping my fingers crossed that it works. If any of you moms out there have any tips, please share!

That is so frustrating, I know, but I think it's just one of those things. Two things that I tried–it worked for some of my kids and took longer for others. One–big boy bed. Maybe it's time? And sometimes when the kids get to pick out their own bed and it's something fun that they like they will want to stay in it. Two–a checklist before bed. Dylan might be too young for this but we had a little checklist–teeth brushed, water, potty, etc.–that the kids got to cross off before bed so they didn't have excuses to get out of bed. Good luck!
Thank you so much for the tips Robin! I was also looking at the checklist option too as we end up going potty at least 3 times. Will look into a big boy bed too — I guess it's time!
Having a bedtime routine should help, however we found that it was also necessary to have consequences for getting up. However y'all are managing discipline, we found that a combination of taking away something important for getting up combined with a treat (and lots of praise for being such a good big boy) for staying in bed worked best for us. My little man is six and we still have to deal with the occasional night when he just can't settle down, but for the most part we've been pretty successful. Part of parenting we've learned is to just keep trying until you find what works for you and motivates your child. Good luck. 😉
thanks so much! these tips are so useful. we do have a pretty good routine down and i'll definitely try the combo taking something away / reward for staying in bed incentive! sounds a lot like what we do in other situations too. really appreciate it!
You look so adorable and that hat is so cute!
