Goodness, I didn’t realize how long these sleeves were until I saw the pictures. Next time, I’ll definitely be rolling them up a cuff or two!
The holiday countdown has officially begun for me!! Christmas is only 2 weeks away and I couldn’t be more excited! To kick off the countdown, I wanted to put on something festive and to me, nothing does the job better than the combination of red and gold. Full skirts are definitely in this year and this one was perfect in that it wasn’t too long that it shortened my already short legs and it wasn’t too poufy to make it inappropriate for work. The buttons down the center add a subtle hint of military inspiration without going overboard and it actually matched up with the metallic elements of the rest of the outfit perfectly!
I normally don’t wear baggy or oversized tops with high-waisted skirts, but the color of this top was just ideal. It was a light oatmeal color with little flecks of gold in the stitching — something that you would only notice if the fabric caught the light at the right angle. Since it was a baggier fit, I decided to untuck the sweater a bit and let it be a little looser around the waist. Overall, I think it worked, especially when topped off with a sparkly metallic belt!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and staying warm! ^_^

Love the outfit! I tried that skirt on too, but it definitely looks better on your than me!
Isn't funny how you don't see the fit of things until you snap a photo of yourself? LOL this happens to me all the time – I go through the day thinking I look great then I come home and take a picture and a lot of the time I'm like "what was I thinking?!?"
I really love that skirt on you – really cute outfit – red suits you so well!
This color combo looks great on you. I can't believe Christmas is only 2 weeks away either. I love your boots. They go great with the outfit. Have a great weekend!
Love this color combo! It's the perfect holidays look 🙂 And I love those ribbed tights! And such a unique color too!

I love that red skirt on you! You look so adorable! Great holiday outfit!
Gorgeous! Your boots match so well with the tights and belt!
The necklace and skirt are perfect for the holidays! You are getting me both excited and nervous. Still have lots of present shopping to do!! Eek!
Such a pretty necklace and the color of the skirt is fantastic!
Being in LA makes it really hard for me to get into the holiday spirit until right before Christmas. I think it has to do with the weather or the lack of decorations in my neighborhood.
Anyways, I love your outfit and it's so cheery and yet warm looking. I love the mix of of accessories and the metallic detail of them all, from the bauble necklace to the grey slouchy boots! =)
This is a really cute holiday look, Kileen!

@Stylepint i agree that it's hard to get into the spirit when it's still warm outside! but all the christmas music and holiday festivities remind me that it's right around the corner that it'll be here sooner that i'm ready for it, lol. 🙂
the pop of red is so gorgeous! love your bauble necklace too, beautiful 🙂

So adorable! I'm in love with the red skirt. Too freaking cute.
I saw a similar colored skirt at H&M the other day but it was tiered. I kept trying to figure out if I should buy it but couldn't think of what to wear on top. Now you're making me want to go back to the store and buy it 🙂 Love the casualness of the sweater + pearls!
I love the boldness of this red skirt! It really brings the whole outfit together. Not to mention, your necklace looks so festive– almost like little tree ornaments! So cute!
The red skirt is so GORGEOUS! What a great little red skirt!!!! Perfect combo with the top and the shoes and tights 🙂 You look amazing! 🙂
I love that necklace!!

After looking at the pictures several times, I feel like there's something wrong w/the armpit area. A lot of bunching going on. Is it too big? I get that it's a slouchy sweater, but mb the tuck made the pit area look like that. Do you see what i'm talking about? how there is a fold that extends onto the chest area? could just be your pose too. I d k. Just pointing it out.
@AubreyOhDang! oh i do see what you're talking about. i'm thinking that maybe it's a combination of the tucking and the shirt fabric getting caught on my bra too. unfortunately the fabric isn't very smooth and i did notice that it wasn't draping as nicely as i would have liked. thanks for pointing that out to me! will have to pay more attention in the future. 🙂
I got the same skirt a while back, and I'm still clueless on how to style it. I love what you did, and I may have to copy it… hehe 🙂
Oooh I like the color combination here- red, brown, beige! I want something red too! Geeeeee. It looks great!
