Right now is my absolute favorite time of year. There’s a time in the year when the weather warms up to a perfect 70 degrees, the flowers (especially tulips!) are blooming, and the days just get longer and longer. Sartorially speaking, it’s also the time of year my love for prints and colors is rekindled and I can still play with light layering in my outfits. I had my eye on this gingham skirt the moment Banana Republic’s spring collection came out (50% off today with code BRSPRING50!). I love the classic check print and the full skirt style give it fun flair while still keeping it work appropriate (albeit in a more casual work environment).
Since this full skirt does have a whimsical appeal, I paired it with a more conservative top to balance it out. And since no look is complete without a little pop of color (something I usually reserve for a statement necklace), I added a yellow belt with a double-knot variation for interest (tutorial here). I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to belts, but let’s just say that they’re my little secret for pulling an outfit together! All 20-something of them. 🙂
