I felt all retro in my polka-dot button up and homemade skirt today. Like, in a I Love Lucy kind of way. Just give me an apron, a shrill voice, and I’ll go bake you some cookies (or set the house on fire, as it were in my case).
I’m actually especially proud of how frugal this outfit turned out to be. I found this shirt from the clothing swap last Friday night while I was in Austin for the Texas Style Council conference. The skirt I made a few years ago from some fabric on sale at Walmart and an easy Simplicity pencil skirt pattern. And the belt? Well, that came in a pack of three and only cost a little more than $2 per belt. My shoes, purse, and watch unfortunately aren’t so cheap, but considering I wear those items all the time, the cost per wear is actually not too bad. So, if I do say so myself, I feel like the good house-fiance today in dressing both chic and cheap! 🙂
