I convinced myself that I needed to wear something bright today. I needed a little color boost to get going this morning (no coffee for me) and this shirt was just the ticket! And while the original idea was to just pair this look with jeans, I ended up going with this skirt at the last minute. I hate to admit this, but I actually paid full price for this skirt from Urban Outfitters!
This mistake was obviously made before I blogged and of course it was before I knew about the ridiculous sales that Urban Outfitters always has every few months. And so because the cost per wear of this skirt was still ridiculous, it easily won out over my old pair of jeans. Thank goodness I don’t make all my fashion choices based on cost-per-wear. Otherwise I’d probably be in the same J. Crew outfit every day. And thank goodness I’m not an Anthro addict. Yet. 🙂
On a different note, I’m obsessed with minty greens this spring. I definitely need more of this color in my wardrobe. I’ve got the minty accessories covered, but I’m keeping my eyes peeled for something like this. It’s too bad that it’s out of stock in my size. Actually, considering I’m on a shopping ban, it’s definitely for the best.

I love minty greens too 🙂 Very pretty and refreshing to look at. You look fantastic though! What a pretty skirt!! But no at full price! haha :p You learn though 🙂
That is such a lovely skirt.
i did learn. no more full price at UO for me! i still shake my head
everytime i think about how much i paid for this skirt…
Mint + coral is one of my favorite combinations! Ahh I just bought a blazer full price at Urban. I NEVER pay full price there either but I just had too b/c I've never seen this blazers on sale in stores or online!
Love the skirt so much, it's so pretty!
i probably mentioned that i'm loving tangerine and teals right now…so this orange and mint are fairly close, and i love it! the skirt is really cute! FULL price, kileen?! haha.

I think the skirt was worth it! It's unique and really compliments your figure. I hate feeling that I have to wear something more because of the cost so I actually end up doing the opposite and not wearing it as much because I get paranoid that it will get ruined.
Wow you look gorgeous!
oh i was like that too!! but then i would get really sad when things would
go out of style and i hadn't even worn them. so now, i just wear as much as
i can! 🙂
Hi Kileen,
I saw you featured on anneorshine's blog and really like your style. I just had to become a follower! Lovin that color combo with the coral top and gray skirt. Keep up the great posts!
Agreed! Adding brights into your wardrobe is a great idea!!! I love all the vibrant colors I keep seeing these days!
Oh, and congrats on your feature with The Wear to go Girls! Be sure to mention it on your blog, everyone can see how fabulous you looked! 🙂
xoxo,
melrod

The skirt is very beautiful as well as your minty accessories. They pair beautifully with coral top. I have to check out the Urban Outfitters!

the mint and the coral go so well together – love it!
love that skirt! its one of my faves 🙂 xoxo jillian:: cornflake dreams
I love that minty green too – it's so feminine and vintage looking. Sometimes you've gotta splurge a lil!
super cute! i like it with your skirt and i'm sure it's just as cute with jeans! i can't buy anything full price at anthro yet (can't justify how expensive their dresses are!) but i do love their stuff…and they do have amazing sales! same with UO! though sometimes it's super crowded and i'm like, "meh, don't have patience" haha. – steph (hoisinivy.com)
lol, it's so hard to find good things on sale at UO in the store. i have
much better luck online. 🙂
aww kileen the pop of turqouise against the bright coral is gorgeous!! i'm so in love with this color combo this season.. i just wish i were more daring like you!!!
you could totally pull off this look!! i think accessories are a great way
to spice up an outfit without going overboard. 🙂
You look amazing! I love that skirt and the color of your shirt is beautiful. The hint of mint in your accessories is a perfect choice! Kiah
btw – will you be at the Dallas Fashion Bloggers get together on Saturday 4/30 in Uptown? Kiah
yup! but i might not be able to stay the entire time… wedding planning calls. 🙂
I love this skirt! Sometimes you have to pay full price on a piece you love, or risk losing it. And I think coral and mint green is my favorite color combo this spring! I wish I owned anything in either color. Lol!
I probably never would have thought to put coral and mint together, but you make them look so good! Bright colors can really make a day better. 🙂
thanks!! i agree. 🙂
I wish I could see you with a more fitted shirt whenever you tuck it in, which is often. I always think they're too billowy to be tucked in. It makes you always look top heavy instead of evening out your proportions.
but, I do like these 2 colors together. it's the color brigade everyday for you Kileen! Bravo!
it's actually really hard for me to find fitted shirts that are snug in the torso without being too snug in the arms unfortunately. but thanks for the suggestion! if you see any shirts that you think would be good, let me know! 🙂
I love the coral/red with mint. The pleating on that skirt is awesome. We have a store here called Gabriel Brothers it's a lot like TJ Maxx but way cheaper. I only own two pair of pants from Urban Outfitters, and I got them there. They were only $9 each! You would LOVE Gabriel Brother's.

oh that sounds pretty awesome!! i know i would love Gabriel Brothers. tell them to open up in Dallas!! 🙂

Gorgeous as always Kileen! I love how you mixed the bright top and the mint jewels! Super pretty!

I absolutely love this color combination of coral and mint green- you look beautiful! I don't like paying full price at Urban either because you can find such great things in their sales! =)
I love F21 jewelry that is that gorgeous…such a great bargain!
Your coral sweater compliments you really well 🙂
Love all the accessories here, Kileen! I am soooo bad with accessorizing but all the blogs I read have been making me crave some junky jewelry.
xo, alison*elle
I am so into mint right now too Kileen….I love the colors you paired with it 😉
I'm in love with corals and orange for this season and probably hint of bright green and I'm still looking for that color.
I too hardly buy UO stuff in full price, I tend to put it in my wish list and buy it later, but as like you, I'm obsessed with Jcrew, I just got me minnie pants, since my pixie pants is falling apart, because I wear it almost everyday!!
Anyway back to the outfit pictures, I think that skirt is actually a steal, even though it over priced, it look like T by alexander wang skirt, so its totally worth it LOL
<3

oh i had no idea it looked like an Alexander Wang skirt! in that case, i
guess it was worth it! 🙂
Coral and mint green look so pretty paired together! And I love the pleating on the skirt! That kinda sucks that you had to pay full price for it, but if you wear it enough times at least you would have gotten your money's worth hehe 😛 Can I ask if that is your house in the background? It's absolutely beautiful – even the driveway looks amazing haha xD
nope. not my house. 🙂 i think it's actually Arlington Hall at Lee Park:

I'm obsessed with anything mint. Probably one of my favorite colors and really, pretty neutral/goes with just about anything when you think about it (in my opinion- :-)). I love this little pop of it with the grey and coral.
I agree that mint can go with everything! Such a versatile color. 🙂
Kileen
I see where you're coming from; I was just being close-minded bc it's hard for me to imagine different body types & the little tricks one must take to work with what ya got!
love that skirt! looks amazing on you!
