Hi! So sorry for the absence yesterday (fell asleep before I was able to finish my post!) but I’m back and sharing one of my favorite looks that I wore just this past weekend! I fell in love with this skirt the minute I saw it and couldn’t wait to wear it. A classic summer gingham print, a feminine ruffle hem, plus the cutest perfect bow tie front make it the perfect summer piece that I never want to take off! The length is petite friendly (I’m only 5′ tall) and hits a couple inches above my ankles. There is a subtle high-low hem gradient from front to back that I find gives the skirt a fun playfulness! I did size up one given that there isn’t any stretch in the waist and would probably say that it runs a bit on the smaller side. There is a hidden side zipper that gives the skirt a seamless finish and while the fabric is lightweight without any lining, it’s still completely opaque! I just love how this skirt catches the breeze and it’s a piece I’ll guarantee that you’ll just feel pretty in!
I’ve had a simple white tee on my list for some time now and am so glad I took a chance on this one! I have a rounder face which is why I go for the v-neck styles, but it’s always a challenge to find one that isn’t too low cut. This one is perfect and again the fabric is opaque enough that I didn’t have to worry about any see-through issues. Plus the sleeves aren’t too tight and flare out just enough to flatter your arms! If you’ve been looking for a basic white tee that will seriously go with everything, give this one a shot!
Adrian brought home these hydrangeas completely out-of-the-blue on Saturday after he took the kids grocery shopping — best husband award right here!

Received this pretty necklace from ONecklace and love the cutout hearts! I personalized it with my kids initials but other ideas include you + your significant other or even just your two bffs. The gold is 24k plated so I don’t have to worry about taking it on/off when I shower or workout! Meanwhile these flower earrings finally hit their limit the other day and I ended up having to retire them. They were an old find (I think from Forever 21?) and they’ve been one of my favorites for years. I was actually super happy to see that Kate Spade had an almost identical one but so much classier — I wore them today at work and they’re such a wonderful statement stud!
Meanwhile, I wanted to share a quick and super userful tip I learned from a Paper Source class I took. The class was on gift wrapping and they taught us how to tie the perfect bow — I was amazed at how easy it was and I’ve been using the same trick whenever I need to tie bows on my outfits!
It’s essentially the same procedure you would take for your standard bow except you wrap the second strap underneath instead of on top before pulling through. Can you believe that’s all it takes to create the perfect bow!? It’s ideal for those instances you don’t have a lot of fabric to work with and still want to create a pretty bow. Try it out and let me now how it works for you!
And now for this week’s On Trend Tuesdays linkup! Sandy and I are excited to feature Cheryl from Northwest Mountain Living this week. Loved reading her post on how she struggles taking photos of herself with a tripod as I do the same thing — except I have a remote so I avoid the running back and forth but I do sometimes forget to hide the remote (can you spot it in the pictures above?).
Now it’s your turn to share a recent outfit with the rest of our community for a chance to be featured! Just link up a recent outfit and remember to include either the button below or link to both me and Sandy in your post. We’d love if you could comment on 5 other bloggers too as this is a community where we can all get to know and support each other! Tag us on social media too to join the conversation with #OnTrendTuesdaysLinkUp!

Kileen, this skirt is absolutely darling! And it is so fresh and summery with the white tee and nude sandals. I bet it would be super cute with a red or pink top, too! Or even yellow or green! Oh, the possibilities are endless! I love it!

When I saw the title post, I was a little confused. I figured that tying a bow wasn’t too complicated. Although, once I saw your demonstration… MIND BLOWN. I never knew that was a way to tie the bow! I’m definitely going to have to try it out. As for that skirt, I need it asap! So cute!
