We seemed to have had a particularly short and mild winter this year and while I’m all for spring coming sooner rather than later, fall / winter is actually one of my favorite seasons when it comes to shoes! I’m a boots girl through and through whether it be a sleek pair of suede over-the-knee boots, an equestrian riding boot, or even a rugged snow boot — I love them all! Since I’m not quite ready to give up on my boots yet, I figured I’d share a few tips to transition shoes now that spring is here!
Go for ankle boots
Ankle boots are the perfect in-between solution for when you want to wear boots but the weather may not be so accommodating. I personally find ankle boots one of my favorites as they’re one of the most versatile styles. Jeans and shorts are always a great solution but what I actually prefer even more is the contrast of pairing ankle boots with a boho, flowy sundress. This pair from Rockport is a new addition to my closet and I’m in love with the peep-toe design. It has the chic style of an open-toe sandal paired with the ease and comfort of a bootie (the chunky heel and the lower height make such a huge difference!). These boots in particular are from Rockport’s Total Motion collection, a line that I’ve been totally sold on after discovering just how comfortable they are from my last pair. Total Motion shoes feature a soft cushy pad in the midsole, and I’ve found that they make a huge difference when it comes to absorbing shock and creating stability. I can seriously walk in these shoes all day without my feet getting tired!
Choose a neutral
Colors are key for warmer months. I recommend neutrals that can be paired with everything. This Rockport pair is a perfect light khaki color and it’s great for keeping an outfit light and bright!
All in the details
Little details such as laser-cut perforation, eye-catching embellishments, or side cutouts make a huge difference when it comes to style. I love that this pair combines both side cutouts and perforations for a look that’s both feminine and edgy.
Meanwhile I love the selection of shoes at Zappos and they’re my go-to whenever I’m looking for a cute pair. They have the best customer service and it makes the purchasing process worry free — I’ve live chatted them a few times now with price adjustment requests and they’ve been sooo helpful! You can’t beat their 365-day return policy and shipping is always fast and free. You can even get free expedited 2-day shipping when you sign up for their rewards program! I actually just got bumped up to the Elite level yesterday and am looking forward to the fact that I can have free UPS pickup for my returns as well as first access to sales!
