Purse: Chanel Lambskin M/L Flap Replica – gifted from uncle (similar)
Many of you know I’ve been on the hunt for a good red pencil skirt, and ideally before October when the fall season finally comes down upon Texas. And while I had found a great red skirt in the interim from Forever 21, it was cut a little bit looser than the slim-fitting pencil skirt style that I was looking for. Still, I loved the red color and it was a great way for me to get comfortable styling such a bold bright.
This past weekend, I happened to walk into The Limited {originally with the intention of finding the blue skirt as worn by Tara recently}. I didn’t find the blue skirt, but I did happen to run across this little red number. I have had hit or miss luck with skirts from The Limited fitting me, but decided to try this one on just for kicks.
Upon zipping it up, I was surprised to find that it actually was not gigantic on me! The waist and hips are a bit big but I’m still on the fence as far as whether I want to bother with alterations. I went online to read reviews of this skirt and found that many others also mentioned that this skirt did run small. And now, I’m thinking…maybe my hunt for a red pencil skirt is finally over?

Kudos for finding a red skirt. I love mine. I wear it weekly, at least!
love your red skirt! i actually wore something similar to this but replace the skirt with pants. xx
Great red skirt, you look very chic so the hunt has certainly paid off! Also loving the fantastic belt!
Very pretty! It has been so long since I have been in Limited! Last couple tries were disappointing…nothing I took in the fitting room was fitting nicely.
Thanks for the heads up on this skirt!
I found a red skirt a month ago but want a longer pencil skirt. Why is it difficult to find??? You think your skirt needs alteration? It looks like it fits you already. Does stretching the shoe really work?
Love this outfit! One of my favorites! http://the-socialites-closet.blogspot.com
I tried this skirt on as well, and thought it had a bit of an orange tinge in it so I didn't get it…but looking at these pictures, it looks fabulous, and totally red! I might have to give it a second look because I've been wanting a red pencil skirt as well! Sorry no luck with the blue one, keep checking their website for popbacks, that's how I scored mine
It looks like a pretty good fit from my angle… maybe a bit roomy in the hips area, but I think would be fine as is. I wouldn't pay for alterations, but if your mom is free… then even better 🙂
same with me! this skirt is still a little on the bigger side but not nearly as bad as some of the other skirts I've tried on at The Limited where the size 0 just falls off me!
yeah, after sleeping on it i've decided i probably still will go for some alterations. i'd like for it to be a little more form-fitting…
the skirt is still a little loose for me and after sleeping on it i've decided i will have it tailored in just a bit so that it's not so baggy.
as for shoe stretching, i tried stretching these shoes on my own using the freezing ice trick, but it didn't stretch out very much. i took them to a cobbler to have them professionally stretched and it made a humongous difference! definitely worth the $11 that i paid. 🙂
you seriously have the best collection of skirts!
That skirt looks pretty great on you! See how it holds up and your search may be over!
Yes it is! It's perfect on you!
Pretty, so pretty) I love how you style bright colors with neutrals – such a captivating combination <3

thanks Angie! it's still unbearably hot here in Texas (over 100 degrees everyday) but i'm slowly starting to incorporate some fall pieces where i can!
Love the red pencil skirt Kileen! I am dying to get my red vintage AT thrifted skirt tailored!
oh yes, i can't wait to see you in a red skirt too!! we can be twinsies! 🙂
The hunt for a red pencil skirt is over. You look fantastic. Don't you just love going into a store for something very specific and walking out with something completely different, ha ha?!
Cheers,

Yay for finding a red skirt!! I have been finding quite a few true-to-size items at the Limited lately. Is the long-sleeved tee an indication that temps are finally cooling down in Texas?
Ha, the temps dropped down to the upper 90s earlier this week. My office has been freezing lately though so I was ok at work. I was starting to sweat after 10 min of taking pics!
