I’m so so excited to finally share our little Mei’s nursery with you today! In our old 3-bedroom condo, Mei actually didn’t have a room of her own as the layout of our home was such that the third bedroom was on the first floor while the master bedroom and the second bedroom were on the third floor. Our plan was to have Dylan and Mei share a room once Mei started sleeping through the night. Luckily, we found an incredible home at the end of last year in the neighborhood that we wanted and with a floor plan that allowed for the master bedroom to be right next to two separate bedrooms for the kids!
Mei is 18 months now so I wanted to create a room that would transition well into her toddler years. The vision for her room didn’t really come together until just a couple months ago when I saw this amazing pink cloud rug from RugsUSA. Rugs have an incredible way of bringing a room together and I feel like they’re a key piece to really completing a space. This rug is everything I had hoped it would be — soft, thick, and super plush. The kids love rolling around on it and honestly, so do I! Once I had the rug picked out, I knew I wanted to go with a pink themed room. Thankfully Mei loves pink too and I knew it would be the perfect opportunity for me to indulge in my girly side! From unicorns to butterflies to white puffy clouds, this room has been a dream to decorate!
But, first things first — painting the walls! I didn’t want anything too overpowering and looked for a neutral light pink. I ended up going with the BEHR Premium Plus matte/flat in Cloud Pink (180A-1) and while we originally started with just having one pink accent wall, Adrian and I ended up loving the way the color looked so much that we ended up painting all 4 walls! It was a solid 2 days worth of painting but I just love the soft warmth it gives the room!

Mei’s crib is a hand-me-down from Dylan but I just had to outfit it in some pretty bedding! This 3-piece set from JustBorn couldn’t have been a better match for the nursery theme with its combination of printed songbirds, butterflies, and blooming flowers. I love that there are also other matching nursery pieces in this Botanica print and part of me is debating whether to get the nursery lamp and/or wall decal too!

I’m obsessed with this little corner of the room! I had the hardest time figuring out what to put on this wall above the crib but finally decided on creating a little cloudscape DIY. I used a combination of 3 different white “balls” to create the clouds including tissue-paper pom poms, accordion lanterns, and honeycomb balls. Then I just used a small thumbtack to stick each one into the ceiling, some angled in such a way so that it would rest in a certain position to create a more multi-dimensional look. And seriously, how cute is that unicorn head?

This Cubitec shelving system has been been with us for almost 15 years now and it’s crazy to think that it was originally a shelf that Adrian bought for his own studio loft when he first graduated college and moved into a new apartment. Since then we’ve used it in to decorate our living room, Dylan’s room, and now Mei’s room! I love the semi-opaque finish and it keeps the modern feel in the room. Mei loves to grab and read books (and has quite the library) so having a low shelf where she can easily reach all her books was key!
And while it’s a little hard to see, these ruffled curtains are another favorite in Mei’s nursery! They’re so light and airy and you would never believe that they’re actually blackout panels!
Oh Joy! for Target party hedgehog (old, similar) | gold basket (similar) | OshKosh floral crown headwrap
Mei has quite a collection of hair accessories so I figured it would be fun to display some of her favorite headbands as part of her shelf décor. This little gold basket was actually a hand-me-down from my own mom when I was a child so it feels extra special to be able to use it for my baby girl too.
Meanwhile, you can probably tell that I’m a big fan of Target for home décor and the Oh Joy! line in particular is one of my favorites! I picked up this gold party hedgehog along with the giraffe and mouse that were released earlier in the year and I just love the touch of whimsy they add.

These little gold moccasins from our latest Runchkins box were just too cute to keep stored away. I love the combination of the pink, gold and white colors here and this picture of Kennedy at 6 days old from our newborn photoshoot always melts my heart!

Our doula gifted this personalized wooden block at our postpartum visit and it’s always such a sweet reminder of a beautiful moment when I birthed my little babe. Our doula, Delilah, was there for both Dylan and Kennedy’s birth and I seriously could not have done it without her!

This Eames lounge chair was also originally a purchase we made for our master bedroom after Dylan was born as I used it to nurse Dylan during his middle-of-the-night wakings. Mei loves crawling up on the chair and flipping through the pages of her favorite books. I’ve actually fallen asleep numerous times in this chair and while it was an investment purchase, it’s yet another timeless piece we’ll be keeping in our home for years to come!

I hope you enjoyed seeing our Mei’s nursery! It was so much fun to decorate and it’s been a wonderful space for the kiddos to play and spend time together. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to ask! And stay tuned for more home updates as I work on furnishing / decorating the rest of the house.
