Khaki Trench, Gingham Shirt, and Cargo Skinnies

Another cold front passed through this weekend and we got a good dose of wind and rain.  In the brief moments when it would stop, Dylan would insist on jumping through every single puddle and would splash until he was wet up to his knees!  Never have I been more thankful for the rain boots we stumbled across at a consignment sale a few months ago.  They’re black with little red fire trucks and a few days ago I started saying “bee-doo, bee-doo” as the sound that the fire truck makes (minion style, of course!), and Dylan has started requesting that I sing it every time he sees those boots!  I can’t wait until I let him watch Despicable Me 2 — I think it might just blow his mind.  🙂

I wore this outfit minus the trench coat when I went out to do a little outlet shopping on Saturday.  I was still expecting the warm 80-degree temperatures that we had the day before (hence the sandals) so I was in for a chilly surprise when I stepped out into 60-degree rainy weather.  I happened to spot this trench coat at Banana Republic Factory and was so surprised to see that it fit perfectly off the rack!  While I love my pink trench, I’ve wanted a classic khaki trench to have for those more business-professional occasions.  Priced at $129.99, there was a 10% store promotion and an additional 15% VIP coupon which brought it down to $99.45 which seemed like a great deal (check out my outlet shopping tips for more info)!  I picked up a few more things on my trip so stay tuned for a haul post!
