It’s finally Friday! I’ve been working extra hours this week trying to finish up a project at work and I’m glad to get a couple days of relaxation this weekend before I pick things up again next week (to hopefully finish!). Adrian’s dad will be in town tomorrow, and I’m excited for him to see how much Dylan has changed since he saw him last Thanksgiving. The Dallas Arboretum is having a cherry blossom event this weekend and here’s hoping we can have a little picnic under the trees. Spring has definitely sprung around here and our calendar is filling up! I’m taking advantage of our warm days here and there to enjoy the outdoors again!
Contrast leather sleeves have been a micro-trend the past few months and I’m really enjoying how it adds that subtle edge to every outfit. I loved the cropped cut of this jacket as it draws the eye up and doesn’t overwhelm a petite frame. The sleeves are about a 1/2″ too long when fully extended so my secret in these cases is to take a skinny hair band, wrap it around the elbow crease of the jacket, and then scrunch up the sleeves as needed. The hair band keeps the scrunching in place and the extra fabric will naturally fold over on the hair band making it invisible for anyone else to see. You’re just left with perfect length sleeves and no actual alterations were necessary! Now you know my little tricks of the trade. 🙂
Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

This outfit is sleek and brilliant. The jacket, top and jeans blend perfectly together. I think you nailed it. Hope you do relax this weekend. Sounds like you've been working extra hard.

Looking so stylish! Great outfit 🙂
I love the cut and sleeves of this jacket Kileen! Have a great time with your father in law!
This look is so great! The stripes, the jacket, the bright bag! Love it!
As for the jacket….what size do you normally wear and is it true to size? Jackets are always so weird with me. The shoulders can be too tight and me and its hard to tell by looking at it online.
Thanks!
I'm wearing size Small and while the sleeves are about 1/2" too long, it's pretty good in terms of fit. Is say it fits more like a XS. Hope that helps!
