I’ve been wanting scalloped shorts for months now so you can imagine my squeals of delight when I noticed these scalloped shorts at H&M yesterday. Although I was a little afraid of the light oatmeal color washing out my pale legs, they’re actually not too bad. And I could totally see these shorts as being super cute layered over black tights when the weather gets colder too. While the outside material is all wool, there’s a great inner lining that makes these shorts safe for those of us that find wool itchy {me!}. I was originally on the fence about keeping these shorts when I first bought them, but turns out that I just bought one size too big {that’s what I get for skipping out on the 30-minute wait for the dressing room}. Lucky for me the lady brought out the last pair in my size out from the dressing room just as I was walking out the store. It was destiny calling my name.

Scallops and polka dots are definitely cute! The color does not wash you off it's a great neautral bottom, great purchase!

So pretty….love polkadots! And did you slim the sides yourself? There are so many F21 tops that I like but they are so freaking wide and am going to learn how to slim the sides of tops with my new sewing machine! Those shorts look great on you- keeping?
i did slim the sides myself!! slimming the sides of tanks is actually one of the easiest alterations that i can actually do, lol! i basically just wear the top inside out and pin where i'd like for it to be (or get Adrian to help out). then i just draw a line and connect all the little pins and just sew! super easy. 🙂
oh yes, and i will be keeping these shorts. the size 2 fits much better than the size 4 i had originally bought. i think they'll be great for the wintertime over tights!

I saw those shorts the other day, but I wasn't a fan of the material at all – like you said, the wool's irritating (although I guess the lining does make it better). But they look super cute on you! I'm definitely tempted to go back to H&M during my lunch break tomorrow and give them another try…
