Hello and happy Friday!! This week has been a fun one as I started back up at work again and have been single-parenting at night as Adrian has been away on a business trip. Apologies that posts have been a bit spotty the past couple of days as a result but I’m so excited to be posting a dressing room try-on review with this amazing LOFT sale! LOFT is hands-down one of my favorite stores (and yours too, I’ve noticed!) and they’re running a 40% off promotion on full-price styles (including lots of new arrivals!) and an extra 50% off all sale styles — use code FRESH. I wasn’t wearing any makeup and did take these photos after work so I do apologize if I look a little more rough than usual, lol!
For sizing reference, I’m 5′ tall and normally take size tops in size XXSP and bottoms in size 24P / 00P at LOFT — I actually find that they generally run a little big so I tend to size down as a result. My store actually didn’t have a very big petite selection but all the details on sizing are included below as well as what size I’m wearing in the try-on as well.
BONUS: I also uploaded a video compilation of my Instastory for this LOFT sale try-on at the bottom of the post which hopefully will also help you see everything when it comes to fit. Feel free to leave a comment if you do have any sizing questions and/or feedback!
MY LOFT SALE FAVORITES
Stained Glass Floral Swing Dress $79.50 $47.70
Dress: LOFT Stained Glass Floral Swing Dress – wearing XSP (similar)
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Alexis Studded Leather Mules – (also here, also love these and these)
I love floral print year-round and the bright pops of red with the white / yellow blooms on the bottom really made this dress stand out! The swing style is loose and flowy, perfect for a casual effortless look that would work for both work and weekend. There is a keyhole button at the top back for closure while the long sleeves have an elasticized cuff to keep them up and even create a subtle “balloon” look that I actually really love if you’re like me and have arms on the short side. The material is soft and lightweight, making it great for layering and would transition wonderfully into spring! I am wearing an XSP, one size larger than my preferred XXSP.
Poppy Bloom Smocked Tie Neck Blouse $59.50 $35.70 and Modern Skinny Jean $79.50 $47.70
Top: LOFT Poppy Bloom Smocked Tie Neck Blouse – wearing XS (similar, similar)
Bottom: LOFT Modern Skinny Jeans – wearing 24 / 00P (tulip hem option, side slit option)
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Alexis Studded Leather Mules – (also here, also love these and these)
This floral top is one of my favorites and I love the bright mix of colors for spring along with the peplum bottom! I’m wearing a size larger than my preferred size so the v-neck came down a little lower on me in the photos but I love that it has a tie neck option as well. The fit is forgiving and flowy with long sleeves that have an elasticized cuff as well that I find give it such a fun style! I also found the length to be slightly longer in the back which I also preferred and found that it created the flattering look of an elongated torso.
LOFT Modern Skinny Jeans – wearing 24 / 00P (tulip hem option, side slit option)
I’ve also been consistently impressed with LOFT jeans and the Modern Skinny cut is probably my favorite. These jeans are soft, stretchy and slimming all throughout and I find that it’s really flattering from all angles! The rich dark indigo wash is also great for winter as I love that it’s not quite as harsh as a black yet still easy to pair. It’s a mid-rise and comes just below my belly button. This pair is about 1-2″ too long on me (I’m only 5′ tall) but it would be an easy hem job given the darker wash as I find that there’s not a need to keep the original hem in these cases.
Ruffle Utility Blouse $49.50 $29.70 and Zip Pocket Tweed Skirt $69.50 $41.70
Top: LOFT Ruffle Utility Blouse – wearing XS (similar, similar)
Bottom: LOFT Zip Pocket Tweed Skirt – wearing 0 (similar, similar)
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Alexis Studded Leather Mules – (also here, also love these and these)
Pink has been a go-to color for me lately (seems to happen every year as I start itching for spring!) and this blouse is the prettiest soft blush color that is feminine yet still professional. I love the ruffles at the neck as well as along the sleeve cuffs. The button are covered which give it a really modern, streamlined look. I did wear the top buttoned all the way up as I kinda liked the more Victorian style but it would be great open too with a couple buttons undone for a more casual feel. The fabric is 100% polyester and lightweight yet not see-through — plus it’s machine-washable!
Tweed is another weakness of mine so I was particularly drawn to this classic skirt. I’ve actually been eyeing this one online for some time now and has been selling out quick (although this and this are similar and also on sale)! The colors have a beautiful rainbow combination that give it a fresh update and I love the addition of the front zip pockets as well. There is an invisible zipper in the back and the A-line cut makes it versatile to wear it with heels for work or with ankle boots, knee-high boots, and my favorite, the over-the-knee boot for the weekend!
Poppy Bloom Tie Neck Bell Sleeve Dress $89.50 $53.70
Dress: LOFT Poppy Bloom Tie Neck Bell Sleeve Dress – wearing XS (similar)
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Alexis Studded Leather Mules – (also here, also love these and these)
This dress is definitely my favorite of the bunch as I love the poppy bloom print and the bell sleeve just makes it such a cute fun piece! The v-neck helps elongate the face and neckline (although this dress is one size too large on me and came down a little too low) but I love that it also ties up top to give it versatility. The waist is elasticized to give it some shape although I would personally add a skinny belt to accentuate the look of an hourglass figure. The dress is fully lined, lightweight and would be great layered under a jacket (as seen below!) to transition into spring.
Knit Funnel Neck Moto Jacket $98 $58.80
Jacket: LOFT Knit Funnel Neck Moto Jacket – wearing XSP (similar)
I fell in love with this jacket and could not believe how incredibly soft and enveloping it felt. The moto style gives it a bit of edge yet it’s the perfect juxtaposition against the cozy fabric that I find really appealing. The zipper front is asymmetrical although I personally prefer the look of the jacket when it’s open as the wide lapels also give it a really statement look. There are front pockets and the length hits right at the hips. Again, the size I’m wearing here is a bit larger than my preferred so the shoulder and sleeves were just a little too big on me but I would definitely recommend picking up this piece as I could see it as a go-to for layering!
