LOFT Sale: Dressing Room Diaries

LOFT is running an amazing 50% off sale right now with free shipping (code SURPRISE)!  It’s not store-wide but it does include a huge number of pieces that are super cute.  I popped into the store last weekend and tried on several pieces that are included in their LOFT sale and I just placed an order too now (details below)!  Free shipping doesn’t come around very often and you can’t beat the fact that it’s combined with a 50% off promotion — definitely don’t wait on this one as sizes are selling out!

For reference, I’m 5′ tall, about 108 lbs, and usually a XS Petite / 0 Petite in LOFT.

This jacket was the first piece I noticed on the LOFT sale rack and I’m in love with the botanical print!  The gray keeps it a bit subdued while the pops of white, black, and red add some fun color while making it easy to pair.  The charmeuse fabric is a bit unexpected for a jacket but I actually really like that it gives it a soft drape.  The sleeves do have an elastic at the wrist opening and I find that it’s perfect if you prefer your sleeves scrunched up like I do.  This would be a perfect layering piece to transition into fall but honestly would be great to wear year-round!  The bomber style isn’t overwhelming even on smaller frames and I love the chic relaxed vibe.  Best part is that the jacket is even machine washable so if you have kids (or are just a bit accident-prone when it comes to food like me), this piece is easy to keep clean!  I’m wearing an XS here and would say that my typical XS Petite size would probably work better so it does run true to size.

I love the dichotomy of a sweater tank and that it’s both cozy as well as summertime appropriate at the same time!  My problem with sweater tanks is that they are oftentimes too boxy and shapeless on me but this one is surprisingly flattering with a tailored feminine fit!  The pom pom details give it some visual interest and the densely-knit fabric makes it so that there’s no need for layering anything underneath (although I would recommend a nude one).  The high neckline offers full coverage and the armholes didn’t have any gaping issues either!  I can definitely see this piece dressed up with a skirt for work or dressed down with jeans for the weekend.  At 50% off, it comes out to only $25 with free shipping too (code SURPRISE)!

How beautiful is this dress?  I love the mix of colors in the wild orchid print and the one-shoulder style is especially flattering if you have a rounder face like I do.  The ruffle hem at the bottom is a feminine addition and the elasticized waist gives it some shape too while keeping the fabric light and flowy.  I didn’t see petite sizing available for this dress and the XS is a bit big on me.  I would probably say that the style runs true-to-size to a little bit big, so size down if you’re in between!

This top is one probably the favorite that I tried on from the LOFT sale!  It’s currently 50% off with free shipping, making it only around $25!!  I just love the botanical print and can see this as a versatile piece — layered under a cardigan / blazer for work or worn alone for the weekend.  The silky fabric feels luxe and the flowy drape is super flattering.  The back has a criss-cross strap style and while I didn’t have a lot of time to adjust the straps properly, it would look super cute if tightened up a bit more than what I have shown here.  The adjustable straps also allow for the front scoop neckline to be adjusted depending on your modesty preference.  I’m wearing the XS here and would say that it runs a bit on big  — I just  ordered it online in XSP and can’t wait to get it in!

I’m kinda obsessed with this wild orchid print!  This top isn’t included in the LOFT sale but I’m definitely bookmarking this one for later.  The neckline has a twisted detail with a modest keyhole in the center.  The top is loose and flowy but if you don’t want a blousy fit, I’d recommend going down a size if possible.  This top would be so cute tucked into a white pencil skirt or even just paired with skinny jeans!

This top isn’t part of the LOFT sale and sadly it looks like this “bird garden print” sold out already in this top.  The fabric is very lightweight and the sleeves have a petal opening that makes it super flattering even if you have bigger arms like me.  I found this one in my exact size and would say that it runs true-to-size.  The back does have a small V opening and would be so cute if you have shorter hair or just want to wear your hair up!

The print of these pants is so pretty!  It’s hard to see but they’re navy with a combination of peachy salmon and maroon flowers all throughout.  The petite style has a 25″ inseam but I actually found the length to be just a little bit long on me (they’re cuffed up about 1″ in these pictures).  The fit is a straight leg and I’m actually wearing one size too small in these pictures as the store didn’t have my size which is why it’s tighter on me here than what’s shown on the website.  Reviews indicate that it doesn’t stretch out either which is definitely a plus!  There are zipper pockets on either side  so they stay flat and I also feel like it adds a modern touch to the style.  The ankle length makes them versatile enough to style with both flats or heels!

I can’t hep myself when it comes to florals and the tahoe blue is aptly named as it is such a calming color.  I love the pops of red too from the poppy flowers!  This dress isn’t included in the LOFT sale but definitely keep an eye out!  I love that the dress is also cut with wider shoulders so that it can be worn as-is even to the office (possibly on a casual Friday or layered under a cardigan if your office is more professional).  The ruffles down the front along the buttons add such a feminine detail as well.  The waist is cinched although I would personally add a white skinny belt just to tie it all together.  I can definitely see it transitioning into fall too with a cute pair of ankle booties!

It’s hard to appreciate the print in this photo but the romper is actually a navy color with subtle pops of white and yellow in the daisy floral print.  There are ruffles all along the neckline with a tie keyhole down the center.  I did find the keyhole to come down a little low on me The halter style is especially flattering for the shoulders and I love the slightly longer 3 1/2″ inseam too that gives me some extra length so that my backside is fully covered (it comes down just past my fingers when my arms are by my side).  And of course, there are pockets!

And lastly, a couple pieces that I styled previously that are also included in the 50% off LOFT sale!  This knotted halter top has such a pretty twisted detail and is great showing some shoulder!  The color is a relaxing cerulean blue with and would be a great piece to take with you on vacation too!

This pleated skirt sold out almost immediately but a couple sizes just popped back online!  I love the vibrant colors and the length is more of a midi rather than maxi.  It’s perfect for petites and hits me at mid-calf.  I would say that the skirt does run a little big as I’m wearing a size 00P and it fits perfectly (sized down once).  The fabric is lightweight, flowy, and such a dream!  There’s also the scarf version of this print that’s also included in the sale — only $12.50!
