Thanks for sharing your journey! I am also Asian-American and petite (5'1 and 110 lbs) – which is why I read your blog! I just had a baby 2 weeks ago and am struggling with low milk supply. I started taking herbal supplements (Fenugreek and Motherlove's more milk blend), drinking water, and am pumping round the clock. Everyone says that milk production is not related to breast size, but I'm having trouble believing it 🙂 Any recommendations on what worked for you?

Hi Miranda!
Congrats on your new baby! I had supply issues around 6 months in to breastfeeding Dylan (he would drink 12 oz at a time!) so I had to figure out how to boost my production too! I really loved the Traditional Medicinals Mother's Milk tea and found that after a day of drinking it, my output from pumping would go up at least a couple ounces. The Motherlove More Milk Special Blend that you mentioned above was also really effective for me too. I would also recommend eating oatmeal as it's also supposed to help. Other than that, it sounds like you're doing the right things. My breasts went up 3 sizes when I was breastfeeding!
Best of luck to you! Xoxo

Wow, good for you for overcoming those obstacles and being a nursing rockstar! That is so amazing! My milk dwindled down to almost nothing when my daughter turned 8 months a few months ago…so I've been able to slowly wean which is nice! Although I would have liked to go longer. Thanks for sharing! Your kids are gorgeous! -♥- Rachel (For the Birds)

Thank you for sharing your breastfeeding experience! It is so wonderful that you lend your voice to the normalisation of breastfeeding. I am currently breastfeeding my 4th kid; my daughters more or less weaned themselves at 15 & 18 months, whilst my elder son carried on until I weaned him at 27 months. Even though it was entirely my choice and I felt that I had had enough (by then I had been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for almost seven years straight), it was still emotional. I had a short period of quite intense post-weaning depression at the time. My fourth, another son, is now 20 months and going strong; for now I am still happy with it too! I imagine it will be hard as he's my last kid, so the last time will truly be my last.
That last photo of your son in big-brother mode is just delicious. And we used to call that newborn position the fencing pose when ours were tiny!

Oh goodness, your breastfeeding story is so touching too! I've found that there's a bit of a stigma in regards to breastfeeding toddlers so it's always been kinda hard for me to bring up to people. I think boys just need the comfort of mama a little longer? And just like you, I'm really enjoying breastfeeding Kennedy now too as she will be my last — so bittersweet!
