Happy Monday! Our weekends have gotten a bit busier lately as Dylan has now started piano lessons and t-ball season is also now in full swing. But, my Saturday appointments ended up getting pushed until this weekend and t-ball practice ended up getting rained out… So! We had a nice relaxing couple of days at home and played in the backyard with the kids in their rain boots once the rainstorms passed. I was able to get a good sweat in with an Orangetheory workout too (my first time doing a “tornado” class and it was crazy good!) and even knocked out a few high-priority errands. And even though I may have procrastinated some more on my taxes, I’ll still call the weekend a success! : )
Meanwhile, I’ve never met a stripe I didn’t like and add in an off the shoulder top, well I just can’t resist! I wore this top out to dinner with a few friends and it was the perfect mix of classy, nautical, and feminine! While I originally thought that the fabric would be like that of a t-shirt, I was pleasantly surprised to see that instead it’s a thicker, medium weight quality and really dresses up the whole top by adding a it of structure. The bow ties on the sleeves are what ultimately sold me and they add just enough girly detail to make this off the shoulder top fun! I found the blouse to run true to size (I’m wearing my typical XS) and the sleeves hit right at my wrists for a bracelet-length fit (although the bow ties do help the sleeves stay up at a 3/4 length if you prefer them shorter). The elastic around the shoulders does have a tendency to ride up but I actually didn’t have too much trouble as I wasn’t raising my arms overhead that much during just dinner and drinks afterwards. It is something to keep in mind though if you have trouble with off-the-shoulder tops staying in place!
