One-piece outfits like rompers and jumpsuits are one of my favorite styles to wear since they’re just so much fun and have a way of taking me back to my childhood!  While I find that rompers are designed to be more petite-friendly, I find the opposite case to be true with jumpsuits.  Almost always the pant leg is too long and the waist doesn’t hit where my actual waistline is.  But, as with any trend that I love, I just keep on trying until I find something that works!

I instantly fell in love with the silhouette of this black jumpsuit and it turned out being especially petite friendly!  The pant leg is only slightly long on my 5′ frame, but I found that the elastic ankle cuffs were perfect at keeping the excess from dragging to the floor and instead allowed the fabric to naturally scrunch a bit at the ankle.  The waistband also has an adjustable drawstring so I was able to tighten it just a little bit higher to avoid having as much extra fabric down at my legs.  I love how the tapered peg leg shape of this jumpsuit also creates a slimming silhouette and has the added versatility of pairing with either flats or heels without having to worry about pant length!

Meanwhile I love that I can dress up this jumpsuit for work but also dress it down for the weekends.  This jumpsuit is from Alala, a new-to-me label that specializes in higher-end activewear that fits your lifestyle, from work to play and everything in-between.  “Athleisure” is a major trend right now and it’s all about comfortable, functional pieces that that will take you from the gym to the office, to drinks at happy hour and to running errands on weekends. As a busy mom with a never-ending todo list, athleisure has my name written all over it.  I had never before been able to find a athleisure piece that was professional enough for the office so I couldn’t have been happier to stumble upon this jumpsuit!  Paired with a crisp white blazer and white pumps, it was perfect for a sleek office look!
