This post was sponsored by Sam’s Club. All opinions are honest and my own.
This year I’ve been really getting into decorating our space and making our house feel like a home. The holidays are my favorite time of year and I seriously look forward to pulling out my Christmas decorations the instant the weather starts turning cold! Now that our kids are past the baby stage, Adrian and I have tried to make an effort at entertaining more and we always have such a great time when guests come over (plus the kids have a little playdate and the adults can catch a break finally!). Last year I was invited to a dinner and I still cannot get over how beautiful the table setting was. It was absolutely jaw-dropping and totally set the tone for a wonderful evening. I left feeling inspired and wanted to create something of my own this year!
I’ve been seeing all the holiday decor out at stores lately so I wanted to do a little trial run of my holiday table setting a few weeks beforehand — mostly because I can’t wait to decorate but also to hopefully inspire some of you as you start planning your own holiday tablescapes. Most of the items that are part of this holiday table setting, decor, and food can only be found in the Member’s Mark private label from Sam’s Club, and I found so many cute things there that everything actually came together super quickly and easily — even Adrian was impressed how quickly I turned around our messy dining table into something awe-inspiring!
Holiday Table Setting – Create the Centerpiece
The centerpiece sets the tone for the tablescape and is usually the hardest part to figure out. I spotted this alpine village house set when I was browsing through Sam’s Club a couple weeks ago and it really kicked off my whole tablescape project! I knew it would be perfect for setting that holiday mood. It’s not too formal or too casual, and has just the right nostalgic vibe that paired with our modern decor. I didn’t even realize until I unboxed it but the houses actually light up too and create a beautiful setting especially at night when all the lights are off in the rest of the house. A remote control is also included and Dylan has loved turning on each of the houses each day when it gets dark outside! Each house is also individually wired so I like that it gives me the flexibility to display the houses individually too if I decide to change it up in the future.
Holiday Table Setting – Coordinate
alpine village centerpiece (similar) | red wine glasses | champagne flute glasses | copper flatware
Next comes the table setting. One thing I knew we needed to switch out was our silverware as it just clashed against the gold and red holiday elements. I couldn’t have been more excited to see this set from Sam’s Club and the copper gold finish is absolutely stunning. Funny how details like flatware color can make such a big difference right?
And can you believe we didn’t have a complete set of wine glasses? I had 3 random red wine glasses that I think carried over from my old grad school days and was definitely in need of an upgrade. Sam’s Club had amazing deals on a 24-pack of red wine glasses and 12-pack of champagne flute glasses each for under $45! I’ll admit I was a bit wary of such fancy glasses given the fact that we still have crazy toddlers around but the glass is impressively durable. I love that my wine cabinet is looking pretty well stocked now!
Holiday Table Setting – Choose the Wine & Food
And so of course, let’s talk about wine! I always turn to Member’s Mark, the private label from Sam’s Club, when I need to pick up wine for entertaining as they have the best selection and prices. Sam’s Club just expanded and upgraded the Member’s Mark label and it definitely shows! I’m not big on alcohol so their prosecco has been what I’ve been turning to lately as it has a soft yet crisp flavor with just a hint of sparkle that I love. The wine is imported from northeastern Italy and I’ll be honest, I was sold on the fact that it had notes of apple in it! 😆 Plus, can you beat a bottle for under $8?
Now that you know I’m a fruity wine lover 😆, you can bet that I picked up this Member’s Mark sangria too! I actually couldn’t resist and opened it up last weekend for a small glass. The flavor is robust and smooth with a sweetness that’s perfectly blended. I have no doubt this bottle will be a huge hit the next time we invite people over — at $7 a bottle I’m picking up a few extra!
apron | ‘thankful’ serving platter | franks in a blanket | mini quiches
I love baking and it’s such a quintessential part of every holiday celebration at our house! I just love waking up to the smell of something in the oven and found some delicious and easy-to-prepare fMember’s Mark inger foods that would be great as appetizers.
franks in a blanket | mini quiches
My kids love pigs in a blanket so of course these “franks in a blanket” were a must-buy for our get-together. These are perfect for little fingers (and adults who want “just one bite!” 😉). What really sets these apart is the Parmesan cheese topping that give it an just a little something extra. Similarly, the mini quiches were too cute that I couldn’t pass them up! Made with fresh eggs and real cheese, each package comes with 2 flavors: Florentine and Swiss cheese with bacon. Best part is that neither the franks in a blanket nor the quiches come with any trans fats and couldn’t be easier to prepare — just bake and serve!
Holiday Table Setting – Don’t Forget Dessert!
garland (also in gold) | cheesecake minis | cake stand | serving bowls | popcorn, nut, pretzel mix | tiered cake stand | european chocolate cookies | reindeer figurines (old, similar)
I went ahead and set up the dessert table too as it’s always my favorite part of entertaining and what everybody always looks forward to! I found so many delicious treats at Sam’s Club and it definitely took the stress off preparing these from scratch. Over the past year, the Sam’s Club Member’s Mark private label has added 300 new items to the line. There are now 2,000 products and they’re continuing to add more! So many options, I couldn’t even believe some of the items that were part of the Member’s Mark brand.
I wanted to make sure this part of the tablescape was decorated as well and had a cohesive feel with the main table setup. Can you believe this gorgeous garland is by Member’s Mark? The matte reds combined with the gold ornaments and pine cones create just the perfect backdrop. At under $45, I’m thinking I need to pick up a few more to decorate the archways of the rest of the house!
cheesecake miniatures | cake stand
It took literally all of my willpower not to eat one of these Member’s Mark cheesecake minis! Seriously, how delicious do these look and they’re the perfect bite-sized portion so you don’t feel guilty tasting a couple different flavors! Made with real cream cheese, the 3 flavors include New York cheesecake, caramel chocolate chip cheesecake, and strawberry swirl cheesecake. I don’t know about you, but the holidays don’t feel complete without a little cheesecake — it’s one of the few times out of the year that I let myself indulge in a taste or two!
serving bowls | popcorn, nut, pretzel mix
I also found some holiday treat bags that had a delicious trio that made for a perfect dessert bar assortment. Each tote contained a popcorn + nut “hunkey dorey” snack mix, white pretzel stars, and cinnamon pecan cookies. I snuck a few bites of the hunkey dorey and OMG, so addictingly good! 😋 The Sam’s Club gift baskets are great to serve at your table and are also an easy gift idea for those last minute shoppers. These serving bowls were also just what I needed for my display and love the simple white style that felt crisp and modern.
cake stand pedestal | european chocolate cookies | reindeer figurines (old, similar)
I have a couple cookie monsters in my house so I picked up this festive box of European chocolate cookies. Also from the Member’s Mark line, the brand has worked with product developers and food scientists who travel the world to source best-in-class ingredients and processing methods. You can really tell that these products are top quality! The box comes with 12 different varieties with a combination of white, dark, and milk chocolate. Baked in Germany and packaged in gold and red tins, these cookies make for such a great gift idea too!
Sam’s Club made it so easy for me to get my holiday tablescape together and at such a great price too thanks to the expansion of its private Member’s Mark label! I was able to find food items, decor and all my entertaining essentials in one trip and it was such a time saver. There are even more ways you can put time back into your day with 2 new options that Sam’s Club is offering:
- Scan & Go: Download the Sam’s Club Scan & Go App. When shopping in-club, scan barcodes of items you add to your cart. Check out and pay on the app and you skip the checkout line entirely!
- Club Pickup: You can order your items online ahead of time and they will be ready to pick up at your store! It’s absolutely free and available at all U.S. Sam’s Club locations!
I hope this inspired some of you to get ready for the holidays and realize like I did that it actually wasn’t hard at all to create a beautiful tablescape that will have your guests amazed! Be sure to stop by Sam’s Club or SamsClub.com to check out the newly reinvented and expanded Member’s Mark label!
