Every year, the blooming of the Texas bluebonnets is something I really look forward to.  Having grown up in Austin, it was common to see them alongside the highways and even on random grassy hills near my home where I grew up.  Sadly living in Dallas now, it’s harder to see bluebonnets in our urban neighborhood.  Last year we took a 30 minute drive out to Ennis, TX to check out their bluebonnet fields and they were simply spectacular (photos from our trip)!  A couple weekends ago we trekked out again, this time with both kiddos in tow, and it was again a beautiful sight to enjoy.

I’m all about pink this season and was excited when I tried this dress on and it fit perfectly without any alterations.  It has the perfect fit-and-flare style that’s not only forgiving on a postpartum belly but also just super feminine and beautiful.  I love the subtle mesh-like fabric exterior and the fully lined interior makes it just a breeze to slip on and head out.  It’s perfect for any spring / summer day and I’m actually even thinking about wearing it to an upcoming wedding!  It’s currently on sale for less than $25 but I would recommend expedited shipping as it can take up to a couple of weeks otherwise.  Or, if you’re looking for other options, here are a few other options that caught my eye:

It was a challenge getting pictures of Dylan this year as he was just too busy exploring to stand and pose, but at least we did manage to sneak one non-blurry picture in there!

A friendly group of bikers was also nice enough to snap a picture of Adrian and me.  #handsomehusband  🙂

And on our way out, we also got lucky and passed by a horse farm where they were letting us feed and pet their animals.  These horses were super gently but seriously huge!

    I am so happy I stumbled upon your blog. You are adorable! 5ft tall? Omg, I would never want to stand next to you & your husband as I stand at 5'10 with no shoes on. I'd look like a giraffe. Lol. Whatever the case, your family is so cute. The photos are gorgeous & that dress looks darling on you. The detailing is really nice. Great choice.

    What a lovely group and a lovely day! We just moved out to Las Vegas a few months ago and this prairie girl is missing her Texas bluebonnets this spring.

    Beautiful dress and photos. What a beautiful family too! When my son was little, it was so much easier to take pictures of my son. Now that he is 7, he avoids pictures at all cost.
