This quick dinner ideas post is sponsored by Kroger but all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that I love!
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not very good when it comes to meal planning, yet nutrition and eating healthfully is a big priority for me. All too often it’s 4pm and I’m at a loss for what’s for dinner! There usually isn’t a lot of time between when I get off work and when I need to get dinner on the table so I was so glad to see that Kroger recently started offering 20-minute meal kit solutions!
The Prep + Pared Meal Kits are the latest offering from Kroger and are amazing chef-designed quick dinner ideas and meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients. A recipe card and all the ingredients are already included so it seriously took all the stress out of figuring out what I needed to buy to prepare dinner. For our meal, I with the Coconut Curry Chicken with lemongrass chutney, toasted rice, and green beans option and couldn’t have been more excited to try it out, especially when it claimed that it I could go from box to plate in 20 minutes!
Each ingredient is pre-portioned so there’s no waste but I especially love the fact that the time-consuming steps were already taken care of — the vegetables were already chopped and even the rice was already cooked! I love that I could see all the different ingredients that went into the recipe so that I could also customize to fit my taste (I halved the amount of butter that it recommended to cut down on the fat in this case), but seriously it couldn’t have been easier than mixing it all together and plopping it into the pan!
The cooking process couldn’t have been easier (even with fancy terminology like chutney involved!) and I didn’t have to do anything more than just saute and flip! I couldn’t believe how quickly the entire meal came together and seriously, it actually only took 20 minutes! The meal turned out just like the picture and I might have been doing a happy “I nailed it!” dance as I plated everything for the dinner table. 😊
The coconut curry chicken was absolutely delicious and even the kids were gobbling it up! The portions were generous enough that even though the meal kit advertised that it was enough for 2 adults, we were actually able include our two little ones as well!
The Prep + Pared boxes can be found in the Deli department at your local Kroger and are in their own separate kiosk. They’re slowly rolling out to all the various stores so I would actually suggest checking online first to see if your store carries them — just search or “Prep+Pared” and the drop-down will populate with options!
With lots of different meal kits to choose from, I love that the Prep + Pared line really considered every diet including even paleo, gluten-free, and vegan! Here’s a peek at their current offerings!
