|Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Eau de Parfum (buy)|
I’m not a big perfume wearer and usually will just spritz a little bit of something right before Adrian and I go out on a date night or for a special occasion. Lately I’ve been thinking that it would be nice to have something nice and light for everyday wear.
When I was last at Walmart, I decided to swing by to see what fragrances they had and was surprised to see that they carry the same selection as high-end department stores (none of the “imitations” that you might see at drugstores)!
While there weren’t any tester bottles available, most of the packages did have a “scratch-n-sniff” stickers (is this a new thing?). I ended up walking out with Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck as I’ve actually read quite a few favorable reviews of this scent online. I’m not usually one for celebrity perfumes and I was a bit wary of getting a “tween” fragrance, but the scent was pleasantly light and beautiful!
The top notes are raspberry, dewberry, freesia, and apple blossom. The heart has sweet vanilla along with honeysuckle and white hibiscus. It finishes with amber, musk, sandalwood, and peach in the base.
Upon the initial spray, I loved the sweet fruity scent but it then quickly evolves into something much more warm and hearty as the vanilla and honeysuckle starts to come through. I noticed that after several hours, there’s a light vanilla / amber scent that’s left. This perfume has surprised me in all aspects in its richness and complexity — something I certainly wasn’t expecting from a Taylor Swift perfume. While I was worried about it being too tweeny, I can actually see this as a scent that’s suitable for all ages. I didn’t find it overpowering or excessivly floral, which is a huge turnoff for me. Instead, the balance of lightness and complexity in the scent just made me feel lovely, feminine, and carefree! LOVE.
Do you have a favorite perfume? Have you tried Taylor Swift’s Wonderstruck?
