If you’re anything like me, you’re still in bed reading this and sleeping off the remnants of a fun-filled night. It’s one of those days you just don’t want to get out of bed. Yesterday was actually one of those days for me, but alas I had one last day of work before I could call it the end. So I dragged myself out of bed and put on the closest thing I had to a blanket. The dress is a little bit over-sized on me, but that’s actually exactly what I love about it. It’s unbelievably cozy, comforting, yet still stylish enough to wear to the office!
Know what else I’m loving. The longer hemline. In looking at all the spring 2011 trends, it looks like longer hemlines are making a comeback (see here and here). I’ve always had issues with longer hemlines as I feel like it shortens the legs and can make petite girls look shorter, but I think with a properly fitted skirt, it can actually look very sleek!
What do you guys think of the longer hemline trend for 2011?

I was just thinking I liked how this fit a bit large and longer than I'm sure it was supposed to, but loved that. I agree if done right the longer length can look anything but dowdy.

Love the sweater dress! I've seen some great VS ones on different blogs lately. The color is great, too. What is it called? I'll call it dark wheat.
I guess I haven't really paid attention to hemlines on dresses before because they're always going to be long on me. I know above-the-knee is better for height-challenged gals, but I tend to go knee-length or lower. Old-fashioned.
I thought I had added you to my blogroll, but I guess I hadn't. instead I'm becoming a follower because I plan to clean up my blogroll.

I AM just in bed reading this, how did you know? But I'm on the West Coast, so it's not that late and I'm not that lazy, right?
I love the sweaterdress…and that it doesn't need much else to look great. It is all the style you need.

I like modest hemlines, but I'm concerned about long ones cutting my legs off in a bad spot. I have stumpy legs. D:

Whoa I'm totally loving the longer hemline too!! I would never think that girls our height could pull it off, but seeing you wear it shows that we can! You look straight out of the VS catalog Kileen 🙂

I'm on the fence about longer hemlines. In the past, I feel it just cuts my legs off at an odd length and I look shorter. But, that could be because I don't know how to wear it! You look so slim and tall in this sweater dress though, so I'm coming around 🙂 Happy new year, Kileen!

I don't mind the longer hemline as long as high heels are involved. I think it looks fantastic on you, and I'm definitely seeing a trend of it over the winter. You look all sorts of warm and fuzzy, I love it 🙂

I like the silhouette that the sweater dress gives you! It's definitely one that will never go out of style, despite its longer hemline.

There is no doubt you have an amazing figure but I think this sweater is too long on you! But that's just my personal preference- I like it right at the knee or maybe 1" above the knee (not too short).
Other than that- love the sweater on you!!!

I was just looking at some longer hemline dresses online!
You did a great job pulling this look off.

LOVE this look on you. You totally pulled it off with those amazing heels…seriously I would kill myself in those. My proverbial hat goes off to you! Gorgeous girl!

YOU LOOK AMAZING, Kileen! I would expect this hemline to really cut a petite girl's legs off in a strange place, but the heels and your frame pull the dress of so perfectly. It looks like another classic on you! I'm afraid of the new hemline trend, to be honest. I usually stick to at the knee or right above the knee. I'm only 4'11", but I'm not thin, so I'm afraid the mid calf hemlines will make me look like a marshmallow!

I'm pretty much in love with those shoes. They're gorgeous.
As a girl with short legs, I'm not sure about the longer hems either. We'll see if I follow that trend…
