I have to admit that the last time I wore this ruffle vest, I didn’t really like my outfit that much. The ruffles just seemed…weird. And so this vest went to the back of my closet and I haven’t worn it since. Well, I felt inspired last night and decided to give this redheaded stepchild another shot. This time though, it was going to be styled as a top! With the help of two safety pins, I successfully pulled the vest together and pinned it so that there was no peekage — all you could see was a big pile of ruffles. Just the way I like it!
Surprisingly enough, I love this repurposed of the ruffle vest look! I was a bit wary that all the ruffles would’ve overwhelmed my petite frame, but I think when it’s offset with a fitted blazer and skinny jeans, the ruffles are a nice touch of volume to an otherwise sleek look. I think I might just start wearing this ruffle “vest” more often now!
And based on how much I’ve been wearing blazers lately, you can probably say that this blazer and jeans look is a quintessential fall look for me. 🙂

i love everything from the cobalt blue pants to that chanel purse – and i'm swooning over the ruffles!
This looks beautiful! I would never have guessed this was a vest, I like how you pinned it together, and I agree, in this outfit I like it more as a top vs. the vest in your first outfit in Feb!
I just love all the ruffles…and I am officially obsessed with those ASOS pants – you wear them so well!

What a creative idea! You definitely can't tell that it's been pinned together, it just looks like a (adorable!) ruffled blouse. I checked out the post where you wore it the way it's meant to be worn, and I actually think it looks great styled as a vest, as well. Very cute.
beautiful 😀
