This outfit was inspired after reading Jean’s latest post styling a scarf as a statement bib shirt piece. I love the beautiful purple and pink colors of this silky scarf and the face that it was gifted to me by my grandma several years ago makes it even more special. I never would’ve thought of styling it such that it draped so loosely, but a scarf truly is a versatile piece and I’m happy to learn more ways to experiment with it!
I’m also loving this navy blazer from LOFT that I picked up recently. I’ve been looking for one in navy for a couple years now and this one strikes the perfect balance between looking too formal (don’t want to look dressed for an interview) and too casual (too slouchy/baggy and I’m just drowning in fabric). I’ve had good luck with finding blazers at LOFT in the past and this one was no different. The torso hits at the perfect length right above my hips and while the sleeves are about a 1/2″ too long, the pinstripe lining underneath gives me reason to wear them rolled up and still look stylish. Finally, the lapel-less open front gives it that casual/versatile look that I’m looking for. Definitely a keeper!
Also a thank you to Laura for featuring me in this week’s Trend Spin Linkup!
