My favorite beauty sale of the year is here!! Sephora is back with their 2019 VIB Beauty Insider Sale, and I legit have been saving up my wishlist for months now in preparation for this event!
If this is your first time shopping the Sephora Beauty Sale, here are a few notes to get you started. The sale is based on the Sephora rewards program and it has 3 tiers based on how much you spend: VIB Rouge, VIB, and Beauty Insider (sign up here if you’re not part of the rewards program — it’s completely free!). The Sephora Beauty Sale kicked off just a few days ago and runs until May 6 — the discount applies to nearly everything in the store and it’s a great time to buy those higher-end items and stock up on favorites! Below are sale deets:
Sephora Beauty Sale Dates:
VIB Rouge: shop 4/26 – 5/6 (use code HEYROUGE for 20% off)
VIB: shop 5/2 – 5/6 (use code HEYVIB for 15% off)
Beauty Insider: shop 5/2 – 5/6 (use code HEYINSIDER for 15% off)
I’m sharing my makeup, skincare, and hair favorites below plus other items that I’ll be checking off my wishlist!
MAKEUP FAVES: FACE PRIMER + FOUNDATION
Estee Lauder Double Wear | AMOREPACIFIC Cushion Compact | It Cosmetics Oil-Free CC+ Cream
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation | Beauty Blender Sponge
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer | Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation – This is my new favorite foundation that I always use when I am doing photo shoots and need more coverage. While it is full coverage, the finish is very natural and it actually lasts for hours and hours without any touch-up needed! The shade range is amazing as well — for reference, I’m currently a 3N in the summer and 2N in the winter. Also, I actually just picked up these pumps for these bottles which I also highly recommend!
AMOREPACIFIC Cushion Compact – I did a full review on this Korean cushion compact and highly recommend if you’re wanting something quick for everyday use! Has a very natural dewy finish plus amazing SPF 50+!! I’m shade 104 for reference.
It Cosmetics Oil-Free CC+ Cream – This is my go-to when I’m going for that no-makeup makeup look and don’t want to bother with using a sponge or brush. I just apply a small pea-sized amount and spread using my fingers. I find that a little goes a long way with this product!
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – This was my first foundation love (shared a full review here in 2011 and my opinions still hold!). The coverage is on the lighter side but it gives the most beautiful natural glow and my skin doesn’t even look like it has foundation!
Beauty Blender Sponge – Still my favorite tool to apply foundation so I always stock up during a sale!
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer – My favorite primer that I’ve used for years! Nothing works better for blurring pores and I notice an instant difference in how my foundation applies when I have this primer on!
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation – A foundation that I enjoy using when my skin is dry and I need a bit of coverage. I love how easy this foundation is to apply and blend, plus it gives that natural finish that doesn’t look cakey!
MAKEUP FAVES: EYES
Urban Decay ‘Born To Run’ Eyeshadow Palette | Laura Gellar ‘Delectables’ Palette (not Sephora)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner
Too Faced ‘Better Than Sex’ Mascara | Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Urban Decay Naked Color Corrector | Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector
Velour Lashes ‘Would I Lie?”
Urban Decay ‘Born To Run’ Eyeshadow Palette – I swear by eyeshadow palettes these days as I just need something quick and easy when it comes to eyeshadow. This palette has all the colors (the top row has amazing neutrals!), have great pigmentation, and blend beautifully!
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner – It’s hard to find an eyeliner that stays put on the waterline but these 24/7 ones from Urban Decay always do the trick! Plus they really do just glide on and I don’t have to tug at my eye in the process.
Too Faced ‘Better Than Sex’ Mascara – A cult favorite for a reason!
Too Faced Shadow Insurance – Love this as a primer for eyeshadows as it doesn’t change my eyeshadow colors at all and helps keep them from creasing!
Urban Decay Naked Color Corrector – Get the Peach color if you have crazy dark circles! This is the only thing that works for me!
Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector – I apply this on top of the Urban Decay Naked Color Corrector and it really just brightens up my undereye area and makes it so I don’t look like a tired mom. 😉
Velour Lashes ‘Would I Lie?” – I transitioned from eyelash extensions to falsies and these made it SO EASY to learn how to put on strip lashes! Plus, these are perfect for everyday and can be re-used 20+ times — definitely worth the buy!
MAKEUP FAVES: BLUSH + BRONZER
Tom Ford Bronzer Brush | Tom Ford Soleil Glow Bronzer
Becca ‘Champagne Pop’ Highlight | Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick
Burberry Fresh Glow Highlight (not Sephora)
Tom Ford Bronzer Brush – I splurged on this bronzer brush last year during the sale and there is no better brush for applying bronzer in a way that it looks natural!
Tom Ford Soleil Glow Bronzer – Again, a product I splurged on along with the bronzer brush last year and no regrets! Love the natural contouring this product gives and it just blends so effortlessly.
Becca ‘Champagne Pop’ Highlight – My favorite highlight, and I love applying all-over in the summertime (cheeks, the tip of the nose, cupid’s bow, collarbone, shoulders!). Perfect peachy color and it seriously looks amazing on every skin tone!
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick – Love the mix of colors and this product is so much more subtle when applied than how it looks in the package. Easy single swipe fr highlight, blush, and contour!
MAKEUP FAVES: LIPS
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick | Tarteist Lip Paint in ‘Get It’
Charlotte Tilbury ‘Pillow Talk’ Lipstick
Charlotte Tilbury ‘Pillow Talk’ Lip Cheat Liner
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick – I’m low-maintenance when it comes to lipsticks but the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipsticks have been my favorite for almost a year now! Love that these don’t dry out my lips yet stay put. Fave colors: Bombshell, Venus, and Wifey.
Tarteist Lip Paint in ‘Get It’ – I received a sample of this in a previous Sephora order and was completely sold! While these are more drying than the Huda Beauty ones, they are nonetheless incredibly pigmented and don’t budge. Love the ‘Get It’ apricot color for spring/summer!
Charlotte Tilbury ‘Pillow Talk’ Lipstick – The Pillow Talk lipstick color is the bestseller and it’s seriously such a flattering shade of pink on everyone!!
Charlotte Tilbury ‘Pillow Talk’ Lip Cheat Liner – Perfect nude color and pairs perfectly with the lipstick!
SKINCARE FAVES
GlamGlow Brightening Mask | Fresh Rose Hydration Moisturizer
Fresh Rose Facial Toner | Fresh Black Tea Essence | Fresh Black Tea Overnight Mask
Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask | Drunk Elephant C-Firma Serum
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist | Dr. Jart+ Shake & Shot Rubber Masks
Shiseido Facial Cotton | Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Oil
Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant
GlamGlow Brightening Mask – GLAMGLOW makes some amazing masks but I’ve found that this one works the best! I always notice a difference when I wash my face after this one as my skin tone is more even and my hyperpigmentation is lighter.
Fresh Rose Hydration Moisturizer – My skin is dry year-round and love this moisturizer for when I need that hydration boost!
Fresh Rose Facial Toner – I didn’t realize I loved this toner as much as I did until I went without it for a week while traveling! This one has hyaluronic acid and my skin just feels clean without being stripped like most toners.
Fresh Black Tea Essence – The Black Tea line from Fresh is another favorite and my skin just feels so “bouncy” after using this!
Fresh Black Tea Overnight Mask – A product that’s been on my favorites list since 2015 (post here!) and it’s still my favorite when I feel like my face looks a little bloated.
Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask – A savior for my always-dry lips and I apply this at night religiously! I’m already on my third bottle…
Drunk Elephant C-Firma Serum – This is Drunk Elephant’s most po9pular product and I noticed a huge difference in hyperpigmentation that I have around my eyes. Definitely a must-have product if you want to improve the quality of your skin!
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist – I love this mist especially in the summer when I want a bit of glow! I spray on my foundation brush or sponge before applying foundation and it just gives that beautiful dewy look. Also apply on bare skin to look refreshed!
Dr. Jart+ Shake & Shot Rubber Masks – I tried these masks for the first time last year when they first released and they’re just so fun to apply / remove! My skin always feels more supple after using these!
Shiseido Facial Cotton – My mom turned me on to these and while I didn’t initially understand the appeal of these, I quickly realized that these are far superior than cotton balls / pads! They are incredibly gentle on your skin yet strong enough to not fall apart. Try these now that there’s a sale if you haven’t before!
Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Oil – My face honestly feels like baby skin in the morning when I put this on at night! This oil packs in so many high-quality ingredients and love that it’s also Clean!
Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant – I transitioned to using natural deodorant a few months ago and love the scent of this one!
HAIR FAVES: TOOLS + PRODUCTS
T3 Micro Curling Iron 1.25″ (or save and get the T3 SinglePass w/ 1.25″ Iron)
Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oil Serum
T3 Micro Curling Iron 1.25″ – I swear by my T3 Micro curling iron! If you’ve never tried this brand before, I highly recommend snagging the T3 SinglePass w/ 1.25″ Iron as the 1.25″ barrel size is honestly the only one that I use these days. The curling iron creates the most beautiful curls that actually last for days — game changer as I curl my hair only 1-2 times a week now! My curling iron shown above has lasted me almost 2 years (see my original review post) and I actually think it looks pretty close to new!
Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oil Serum – My hair has been balayaged and can be a bit dry/frizzy. I love this oil serum as it really tames the flyaways and frizz without weighing down my fine hair!
Kerastase Blond Absolu – I also picked up the shampoo, conditioner, mask, and heat protectant serum in this new line from Kerastase as it came highly recommended from my hair dresser as a way to maintain my balayage color. She also mentioned that the mask was so good that I wouldn’t even need a glaze for my hair if I used it regularly!

I only recently found your blog, but I would love to see more beauty-related posts. It’d be awesome to know how makeup fits into your daily routine (when you do it, if you always do a full face, etc.). Right now, I have a one year old who is all over the place, so it’s hard for me to play around with makeup the way I used to. Mornings are so hectic and it sometimes feels like naptime is way too late to start my makeup. Just curious how other mamas handle this, as I’m the first of my friends to have a baby! I’m also old-school in that I love a good pictorial. While I love watching Youtube tutorials for eyeshadow looks, I just don’t have time for that. I’d rather look at a picture to figure out how someone achieved a look, so that’s the kind of content I like to see. Another idea would be similar to try-on hauls. I love seeing people do a full face from one specific brand.
thank you so much for taking the time to write this comment!! this is so helpful and I will definitely take away a few ideas from your suggestions!
xo,
kileen
I’ve been reading so many of these posts over the last few days, and having a “no spending” thing going on right now is becoming increasingly difficult with each post haha. I want it ALL. I’m such a makeup/skincare junkie and it’s way easier for me to drop money on these products than clothing, even!
I love my beauty blender brush and it’s about time I get a new one! Perfect timing
So many amazing products!!
Love Sephora!
Oh Sephora is one of my favorite places to go shopping! The Born to Run palette is probably one of my go tos, I love the Better than Sex mascara too.
