I vividly remember a day back in high school when I wore tights under shorts to school. I had a favorite pair of jean shorts that I wore to pieces and wanted to keep wearing them even when the weather got too cold to go bare-legged. And so I donned on a pair of tights. I thought it looked cool when I tried it on at home, but it apparently was not so cool once I made it to school.
But now, several years later, it seems like tights under shorts are a fashion trend. And so despite my traumatic high school memories, I decided to try the look again. But this time with some tweed shorts. And while I think jeans shorts + tights is super awesome {maybe I’ll muster up the guts to try it again sometime!}, I feel like the tweed shorts are a better gateway outfit.
And so while I may have been ahead of my time in high school, hopefully I’m just on trend this time. 🙂

I've never tried the shorts and tights combo myself, but I love how it looks. I'll have to dig out my shorts from the back of my closet. I'm a bit envious that it's warm enough where you are to wear such a lightweight shirt out. It's been freezing on the East Coast lately!

I totally did that too and got the same reaction. But then again, I got a reaction like that everyday in high school. I was a bit of an erratic dresser. I love this look though and I can't wait to give it another go. Thanks for the inspiration! You look great!

Ahh the sweet memories of school. I remember every time I would wear heels or a skirt or dress and people would always ask what occasion I was dressing up for. I'm glad you gave this look a try again I personally love the tight with shorts look and have done it often. Tweed shorts are the best this time of year.
