Ah, summer. Today kicks off the official start of the season and I have so much to look forward to! It’s that time of year when I feel like time slows down, and I can take a minute to reflect and recharge. I love being able to relive parts of my childhood with my little ones and experience it all fresh again through their eyes.
The longer days and warmer temperatures of course mean lots of time spent outdoors! We’re regulars at our neighborhood park and have a weekly splash park date that the kids always look forward to. Is there anything sweeter than the innocence of have little ones playing in the water? I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. 🙂
Our little Kennedy is such the explorer! It’s so interesting to see just how different her personality is from Dylan’s. While he is outgoing and fearless, Kennedy likes to take her time and slowly ease into things. She is also such the girly girl and loves flowers (she always asks to pick up dandelions on our nightly walks), accessories (she loves handbags and is always stealing mine!), and clothes (she’s already quite opinionated on her daily outfits!).
And of course, what is summer without ice cream? About every other week, we head out to one of our favorite sushi restaurants and next door just happens to be a yogurt shop. It’s by far Dylan’s favorite part of our sushi nights!
Summer is all about being able to enjoy those carefree moments that bring us joy. But, would you believe that more than 22 million children may miss out on milk’s nutrition this summer when they lose access to free or reduced-price meal programs at school? I was surprised to learn that fresh milk is one of the most requested yet least donated items at food banks, meaning that children in need may be missing out on essential nutrients like high-quality protein that milk supplies.
This summer, help feed a childhood in your community with a small donation to The Great American Milk Drive (you’ll enter your zip code so it certain to go to your local area). Even $5 can deliver a gallon of fresh milk to children who need it the most and help ensure that they have the potential to play, learn, and grow!
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Dairy milk has nutrients designed to help a 90 pound calf grow and really isn’t meant for human consumption, not to mention the mamas are raped and tortured to produce milk. If you’re open to it, could I suggest some educational books for you on the topic?

Oh, your kids are adorable! So cute! I really like the idea of the Milk Drive charity: unfortunately I don’t live in America!
