As a busy stay-at-home mom to two little ones including a newborn, having time to myself is hard to come by these days and even harder is it to fit in some self-pampering time! But, I do think it’s important to carve out personal time to reconnect and recharge, and I was reminded last week of just how good a little spa retreat is for the mind, body, and soul.

Spavia is a day spa that opened up it’s doors here in the Dallas area (Plano, to be exact) about two months ago and is the fifth location for this company based out of Colorado.

The location is spacious and I just loved the instantly calming atmosphere upon walking in! After going through the list of different service options, I opted for a purifying detox body wrap and filled out a brief form where I was able to specify my music preferences, massage firmness, as well as how much conversation I wanted from my service provider. I was also able to pick out the lotion fragrance that I liked from a set of 5 options — I chose the one with guava and it was like being whisked away on a tropical resort! I just love the level of customization that’s available to fully ensure that the experience was everything I wanted it to be.
Next I went into the locker rooms to change, slipping into a soft robe and slippers. I also loved the fact that the lockers each had a tiny chest (shown in first pic) for me to store my jewelry in so that it wouldn’t get misplaced. I thought it was just too cute!

Now, on to the actual service! I was really looking forward to my purifying detox wrap. As described by Spavia, the treatment is designed to “reduce the load of stress and environment factors while boosting circulation, stimulating metabolism, and relieving the body of harmful toxins.” After disrobing and getting comfortable on the bed, I was given a warm neck wrap and eye mask, both little additions that helped me relax immediately.

The masque was then followed by a warm stone massage on my hands and arms, which were then subsequently wrapped up in a plastic bag and placed in a large mitt for full absorption. The specialist then wrapped me up in sheets followed by a thermal cover. Being wrapped in all that warmth was pure relaxation heaven! The wrap is left on for 10 minutes, at which point a warmed-oil treatment is applied to the hair. The oil is special, imported from the isles of Fiji, and let’s just say that my hair has never been softer!
Once the wrap was complete, my specialist removed my sheets and feeling my skin at this point was almost unreal — I don’t remember it ever being this silky and soft before! The remaining masque that hadn’t absorbed was cleansed off with a gentle towel and as I was offered some warm tea or water, I was already thinking about how I could make this a regular part of my routine. I could not have felt more relaxed, rejuvenated, and like a brand new person!
Luckily, Spavia has membership options! I love that Spavia is all about making spa treatments accessible and affordable, with 3 different membership choices starting at $49. The membership also includes discounted gift cards for friends too so you can share the spa experience! Mother’s Day is around the corner so I’m already thinking gift options here… 😉
If you have time during the weekday from Monday through Thursday 3pm – 8pm, there is a special Happy Hour promotion going on right now where you can enjoy a 60 minute signature massage with complimentary wine for only $49. Also the first 100 people that make an appointment can be entered to win a year’s Signature membership valued over $600 — just be sure to mention this blog post!
Thank you so much to Spavia for a wonderful spa escape and if you live near any of their locations, I hope you will try it out!

* Disclosure: I was provided with a complimentary spa treatment in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Thank you so much for supporting the companies that support this blog!

Sounds like the perfect getaway 🙂 That's so cool that they have a monthly subscription, I had no idea that spas had such an option.
