Spring Outfits for the Little Ones // Easter Weekend

Happy Monday!!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a fabulous Easter holiday if you celebrated.  Our original weekend plans had a slight derailment as the entire house ended up getting sick come Friday night (Kennedy ended up with a pretty bad fever and Adrian even made an emergency midnight drugstore run).  Come Saturday morning we were all pretty groggy and needless to say we didn’t make it to our original Easter egg hunt in time.  But!  I made a little Target run and picked up Easter goodies for the family so that we could have our own little fun at home!

Easter basket

In my last-minute effort, I picked up a 50-pack of eggs and scattered them in our backyard.  It was fun to see Dylan run around and get excited filling his basket full of eggs.  I’ll admit that I didn’t hide them very hard.  😉

And because I also picked up a little watercolor painting kit, I tried my hand at my first DIY face painting for Dylan!  He requested a “flying butterfly” and while it’s been rubbed off a bit by the time I took the picture above, I’ll admit it didn’t turn out as bad as I thought and it was super fun for both of us!

Kennedy was feeling pretty out of it given her restless sleep the night before but did enjoy sitting on the grass and playing with the eggs.  From taking them in and out of her basket as well as trying to snap together the open eggs that she found, she happily sat for a good 30-ish minutes.  

I was kind of in love with the cute floral lace dress that I had picked up for her so I was glad that she could at least take it out for a little spin this weekend!  (I layered on a pair of leggings just so the grass wouldn’t itch her legs — I actually picked up about 10 pairs of these from Old Navy in various prints / colors and can’t recommend them enough!)

(I filled the eggs mostly with bunny grahams and snuck in a few m&m’s (probably because they’re my personal favorite snacks and I wanted to sneak a few bites…  😉

Meanwhile, Dylan is outgrowing nearly all of his clothes right now so I picked up a couple new spring outfits for him too!  The Children’s Place has always been my favorite for fun shorts and I recently discovered that even the shorts that have a clasp closure have enough elastic along with an adjustable waistband that are perfect for this potty-trained boy who can’t be bothered to unbutton or unclasp his pants…  #yankingworks #workinprogress

I seriously fell in love with these flamingo shorts!  The flamingos are nicely embroidered on and the print is so perfect for the spring / summer.  I paired it with this cute pink button down for a dressier look but also picked up this polo shirt for casual days (I kinda love when boys wear pink!).
