Before I decide to keep any item that I want to buy, I make myself first think of 3 different outfits that I can create with it. Usually the first outfit is the obvious one but outfits 2 and 3 will sometimes require a bit of creative flexing. For this lace/stripes shirt though, it was almost too easy. Black and beige are such classic neutrals so I feel like just about any color paired with it would work. For my first outfit, I paired it with cobalt blue pants and really loved the result. I decided to stick with pairing the shirt with primary colors and went with a bold red skirt this time. The outfit ended up looking really bold and I think I love it even more. I guess the real test in creativity will have to come with the third outfit… I’m thinking pastels? Maybe even some leopard print? 🙂
And because I think everyone needs a good red pencil skirt, here are my picks:
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Those pumps are as cute as your smile. The outfit as a whole is lovely, and I love the pop of red this skirt provides. The handbag and watch are both charming. With this top, those details make this striped top anything but basic. That top is very nice. I think that bow belt is cute. And my goodness… your hair, face, and smile are all gorgeous! I thrifted a red Pendleton pencil skirt a few years back and I wear it all the time. But it is wool, so it doesn't play well with the summer heat. Now that it is cooling down, though, it is about time to pull it out and back into rotation again!

So pretty! I love this nautical chic look, the top is so unique, they took the average striped tee and made it totally cute, and the skirt is just fab too. All those outfits sound great, leopard would look absolutely glam, I'd love to see that. I apply the 3 looks rule too, it has helped me so much!

I love this color combination, and I really love how your makeup looks in these pictures! I don't know if you did something different, but it looks more natural and fresh, and suits you really well!

Thanks Kimmie! I switched up the blush that I normally use. I don't use it often but I'll switch to using it more now! 🙂
