The $32 Amazon Dress You Need This Summer

Hello and happy Monday!  We had such a busy weekend as we’re cleaning out the kids’ rooms to give their bedrooms an overhaul, and omg it’s been so much work. 😆  We’ve filled no less than 9 bags with items to donate, with lots more items that I need to list and sell.  I’m excited to see it all come together but the process of getting there is not easy!

Meanwhile, August always means hot weather here in Texas and for me, that means easy breezy dresses!  I love a good Amazon find and I’m excited to share what is probably my top Amazon dress purchase of the summer.  This dress really enhances the figure with the tie detail at the waist as well as the subtle front slit that shows just a peek of leg.  The fabric is a lightweight soft jersey material, and I just love the way it has that polished yet effortless drape.  I usually avoid scoop necklines as it can make my face look too round, but I actually found this scoop style to veer closer to a square neckline that actually is so flattering.  Come to find out, this $32 Amazon dress is actually a dupe for a $130 designer dress that’s nearly sold out!

When this dress first came in the mail, it was wrapped in very unassuming plastic and I made the mistake of letting it sit there for a couple days before even getting around to trying it on.  But omg, the magic really happens when you put on the dress and you’ll quickly understand just how good it looks when worn!  Bodycon styles are very much hit or miss, but this dress is surprisingly forgiving.  If ever you want a dress that gives you that confidence boost, this dress is it.  The style is also incredibly versatile as it’s a dress you can wear for date night, to a wedding, or even while on mom duty — dress it up with heels and a clutch or dress it down with sneakers and a baseball cap.

I’m wearing the dress in the “brown” color, but I will say in person it looks more like a dark orange.  I personally am obsessed with the orange color instead and find it to be the perfect transitional summer-to-fall vibe!

Finally, just a couple of tips that might help when wearing this dress:  the material is very lightweight, so I personally am only wearing these Amazon Nippies underneath as I didn’t want any sort of visible lines or straps showing through.  I’ve purchased almost 20 boxes of these Nippies over the years and it’s the only brand that I find actually gives me good coverage and stay put.  It’s made of medical grade silicone so it doesn’t irritate even sensitive skin and the silicone actually has a really nice tapering along the edges so that it’s truly seamless.  If nippies aren’t for you, my favorite seamless bra is actually the Spanx Bra-llelujah — it’s one of the few bras where it doesn’t give me those unsightly rolls on my side and back while the molded cups also give me really good shape (and use my code KILEENXSPANX for 10% off sitewide!).

Second, sizing for the dress goes from Small to X-Large.  I’m 5′ 1/2″ tall and 107 lbs currently and actually find that the size Small is a just slightly big.  I’m wearing the dress without any alterations here but at some point, I’m planning to have the straps shortened about 1″ so it’s not too low cut.  I would recommend going one size down when ordering this dress as the fabric has lots of stretch and it will be a better fit!
